Employee Service is Okay, Spa Service is Not so Much

I bought a Groupon here, THEN read these reviews. I was a little apprehensive, but didn't want to pawn a bad Groupon off to somebody else because I didn't do my research, so I decided to give them a chance. Expecting a horror story, I went in, to find 2 guys working the counter (1 of which called to confirm my brazillion). It was a little odd, but if women can do ""manly"" jobs, why can't guys do ""girly"" jobs. As long as a male wasn't doing the brazillion was. I had my appointment with Mandy, she was nice, a little quiet for an appointment that is already almost awkward, but she was definitely nice and had good customer service. Only twice did she mention trying a new product, and after offered to schedule me another appointment, but was in no means pushy. However, I will not be returning because I feel like I only received a ""glorified bikini wax"" instead of a full brazillion, which is why I paid a little extra. However, if that's not what you're going for, you might be pleasantly surprised.

a half arsed brazilian

i wish i could leave no stars. i can't figure this place out at all, i try to only come at very occasional times because i've had such horrible service.

this previous time i came in for a brazilian wax. i know what this type of waxing entails.
what i got was pretty much a bikini wax.

she said the rest of my hair was a bit too long. as far as i know, it all grew in at the same rate, the hair was the same length from the previous wax i had.
however, instead of letting me trim it.. or her trimming it, she just let me go. i've got a glorified bikini wax and i paid 46 bucks for it.

how do you complain about that?? i didn't know what to say. i was covered in wax and hair and they even tried to sell me extra stuff.
when asked to leave gratuity i said no. i didn't receive the full service i was paying for.. nor did i receive good customer service.
the girl taking my money looked at me like i was horrible for stating that i didn't want to leave a tip. well chicky, eff you.. i'm not tipping for crap service.

this place has horrible customer service, they don't finish the job, they don't even do decent work.
i wish i hadn't wasted my money with them and gone somewhere else.

if you're smart. STAY AWAY.. this isn't a spa.. it's a farce.

close to home but waste of time

I've had three pedicures here in a row this summer and all three have been terrible. On one they filed and filed one spot on my foot forgetting the rest or the other one. I waited 30 minutes for my appt and then was rushed through the whole pedi in 30 minutes. The next time I paid for the upgraded pedicure but she forgot the ""fancy"" foot scrub, the calous remover and ANY lotion. Then since I had clear polish she said she it didn't need to be removed before adding new french tips/polish. Of course the new stuff peeled off in 2 days. Sadly I also bought the mani/pedi groupon and still another bad pedicure forgetting to scrub an entire foot again but also, this was the WORST manicure I've ever received the emery board skipped across my finger like nails on a chalkboard. No cuticle cream, no lotion, no soaking. Not sure the 15 minutes qualified as a manicure. The nice gal who did it said she only does hair, not nails (you know bc nails are beneath hair stylists). It goes on and on, sweet girls but untrained.

choose any other place

Sadly the worst place to get pedicures or manicures. Never had a good one, I am grateful people give me a gift certificate for a pedicure but pleaseee not to this place, its a waste of money. THey chose not to remove existing nail polish, forgot to file my feet and only ended up spending 20 minutes with me letting me 'rest' on the bench for 40 minutes total.

Be careful

All of the reviews that are positive are done by the owner or by employees - they arent even real!!

Love it!!!

Great experience! The staff was very friendly from the time you walk into your appointment you are greeted with a friendly professional front desk staff to the person doing your service. I just got my membership with a spa package as a gift. I went in for a massage, pedicure, manicure, facial, and a haircut. Every service was very relaxing, and I left feeling amazing! I scheduled an appointment with the hair stylist in a few weeks for highlights!!! The prices are so affordable with the membership.
They also carry Bare Minerals which is my favorite make-up!
It is in a great location in the Foothill Village with plenty of parking, convenient underground parking when the main parking is busy.
I loved it and will definitely be going back!!!

Cool place...

My wife got me a certificate for a pedicure, facial, and membership . When I opened it I was shocked she would get me something like that. After I went in I realized every man needs to be a member of the spa club. I will admit i was intimidated when I walked in, but after a few minutes I was more relaxed then I have been in a long time.
Huge fan of The Spa Club.

Excellent services... Excellent staff....

I am an avid spa goer. I visited The Spa Club for a massage and to get my hair done. I am shocked to read the reviews. To start with I enjoyed the front desk... While waiting for my appointment (because I was 5 minutes early) they included me and everyother guest in the lobby in a conversation. Which was nice. We were able to talk about other great services they had to offer. Infact I booked one of those pedicure they were talking about for tomorrow. My massage was AMAZING, I saw Melissa, I suggest EVERYONE gets one from her. My massage was only for 50 minutes, but I was told that by the front desk when I booked. Everything ran right on time.
Next I went for my hair, Katie was my stylist... Katie did an amazing job on my short hair cut. She made sure everything was exactly how I wanted it. She is a very talented stylist!
When I went to check out I was asked if I wanted to leave a gratuity, I guess their credit card machine needs them to ask before processing the card. However, I found it extremly professional how they asked and appreciated it.
like I said before I WILL BE BACK TOMORROW!

Worst waste of money,EVER!

The Spa Club is a complete joke.I had a HORRIBLE experience there.I have been going to get massages and spa treatments for ten years, and I am in disgust!I went into the foothill village Spa Club and first, there was absolutely NO parking.I was five minutes late to my appointment, because I had to walk ten minutes from my parking space. What a great way to start off my pampering experience. The girl at the front desk was snobby and judgmental and extremely fake. She was extremely rude but just dripped with a fake smile.Blonde hair maybe 25 years old. I had to wait a ridiculous amount of time for my appointment, which is funny because she was so rude about me being barely late.My massage was ok, but i could not relax as the girl was watching the clock the whole time and i was rushed to get dressed right after. It was ANYTHING but relaxing! I had to go BACK into the foyer which i was dreading because of that rude woman who had made me so uncomfortable. Thankfully, there was a sweet girl with long brown hair that offered me water and made me feel so much more welcome. If it weren't for her, I probably would have paid my dues and walked out before i was finished! I had a pedicure next and it looked like a six year old did it.The polishing was all over my toes and the girl would not redo it. She apologized and explained that she was an esthitician, not a nail tech!!!Excuse me?why should i pay the same amount as someone else who is getting done by an actual proffesional! And shame on the Spa Club for allowing girls to do such horrible nails!I have been to the fort union location as well and frankly this place is NOT worth the discounts. It is so much more trouble than it is relaxing. If you want a spa treatment,go to sego lily or brikhouse retreat.I was treated amazing there. This place is disgusting.I tried to complain to the owner, michele, who could have cared less obviously because i called the number and she is never there and she does not reply to any emails.NEVER go here.

fast food version of a spa

pretty much all i have to say about this place is it is a fast food version of a spa.You are rushed to get in,rushed to get out, service is bad, treatments are sloppy and you leave feeling far worse than you did when you went in.i did not feel pampered, relaxed or comfortable.this is not worth their little membership or whatever.the employees seem miserable and i could pick up on that.i had a terrible massage and a terrible haircut.then the front desk was rude and nasty when i didnt leave a tip.this place is a joke.go to a real spa where you will feel like a princess.i have nothing good to say about this place.

Overall good place

Not a traditional spa as in there are no locker rooms, hot tubs, or showers. However, the people are all friendly and there is a wide range to choose from for services. I have gotten pedicures, manicures, hair cuts, eyebrow waxes and bikini waxes. I enjoyed all of them and they even gave me extra time for pedicures which was great. The ladies talk to you while they do the service and it is a friendly place.

I also brought a guy friend in for an eyebrow wax and he highly recommended it as a place that ""didn't make him look girly"". My boyfriend also loved his haircut from them and they did a great job asking what he wanted and doing it a little at a time.

I highly recommend getting the membership as it pays for itself in just a few visits (plus they throw in a $10 off for your birthday!). They also give a first time member guest cards (so your guest gets member prices) which never expire and coupons for discounts on hair and stuff!!

After looking through lots of places, I recommend this one for best value and service in Salt Lake City! Check out all three locations!

minimal effort

My first experience have a message was Great. The SECOND time I took my mom and sisiter for pedicures and they where awful. The actual pedicure was 15 minutes and I basicly got my nails painted. When I called to tell the manager why my sister and I felt if was horable, she didn't care. THRID time I went my friend and I recieved facials. It was the WORST facial of my life. I had to ask the estitician what she was going to do, because I was starting to wonder if she was going to at least clean my face!! My friend and I both left feeling irritated and riped off. It was suppose to be a birthday present, so it made it that much more disapointing.
Again the managment didn't care and stated that if they wanted a better facial we shouldn't have come to their facility.

I'll never go back!!!

Great Customer Service

I recieved a Gift Certificate, when I called to make an appointment the gals on the phone were very polite and helpfull. When I went in for my services the spa was very clean and the staff ran on time for all my services. The massage therapist's were wonderful. I felt very relaxed, and pampered by the staff.

I was disappointed...

I have a membership to The Spa Club. I have been a member for almost two years, but I will not be renewing my membership. I have gone to the Fort Union location and haven't really had any problems or concerns. I recommended to a friend that we get a massage at the same time, so we went to the Foothill location. The experience was awful! We arrived on time, but due to the awful weather and few parking spaces, we were a couple of minutes late getting to our appointments. The girl who did my massage used too much pressure and I asked her to lighten up, but I was sore for days afterward. My friend had such a horrible experience, she is never going back and I feel bad for recommending it to her.

I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE!! The staff is rude and VERY unprofessional! I was meeting clients there for a relaxing pedicure. When we arrived we were greated with cady, judgemental attitudes. After we checked in they said they could bring us back, we said we would like to wait for the last person to join us. They girl said that we should go back now cause were not going to get our full hour anyway. So then our cleint had to cancel due to work. They were rude and told us that next time they need a 24 hr cancelation, I called the day before to set up the apointments. If their employees are this rude and unacomidating in the front I would HATE to see how they act while doing the service.

Great therapists and treatments for a discount

I went to spa club for their Synergie treatments. The Spa Clubs prices can't be beat! The therapists are great and always very professional. The treatment was wonderful and I really saw results.. The atmosphere is great but it isn't like a traditional spa. You do have to remember that it is a ""mini"" spa and what it lacks in the atmosphere it makes up in well-trained therapists and great prices.

I would definately recommend!

Best Day Spa in Salt Lake City

I am a member of the Spa Club and love it. From my very first visit, I was impressed with the kindness, professionalism and customer service The Spa Club has to offer. I get all of my services done there and I have always been impressed with how wonderful everything is. My favorite things are massage therapy (they have, by far, the best MTs in town), hair extensions and facials. I really don't know how anyone can write a non-positive review, but they may have had that one bad experience. I have gone to all three locations probably over 100 times and I have NEVER had anything bad happen. The added perk is that their prices are fair and affordable, which makes it easier to go more often. I can get two massages for the price I would pay for one massage somewhere else and I don't have to deal with the snooty attitude! Yay for The Spa Clubs!!!

Not a true day Spa

My husband bought me a full package meddage, facial, pedicure and manicure there for our anniversary and I was COMPLETELY DISAPOINTED. If you are looking for a true spa experience where you are truly pampered and relaxed this is not it. A true spa should have a changing room and robes and slippers for you so you don't have to get dressed in-between services also a relaxation area for you in-between services. You go from a mediocre relaxing message and have to re-dress and go back out to the crowded corner of there lobby/sitting area and wait FOREVER for your next service. I have been to many spas and this was not worth the money or time. All my technitions were very mediocer my facialist was horrible. I usually am not this harsh but it was not what a day at the spa should be.

Horrible Experience with Waxing

Two absolutely horrible waxing experiences! For a regular bikini wax I was kept waiting 45 minutes after my appointment time. Then the technician had forgotten to heat the wax. Instead of offering to reschedule she turned the wax on for five minutes and attempted to wax my bikini line with lukewarm wax--incredibly painful and ineffective. She removed very little hair. When I requested she remove more she told me my appointment was taking too long (she'd kept me waiting for 50 minutes!) and more hair removal would cost an additional $15.

Second visit for a brazilian. A different technician left clumps of hair after 45 minutes of waxing. The next day the waxed area was covered in bruises. I have been waxing my bikini line (regular and brazilian) for 10 years never received such terrible and painful treatment. This place is absolutely horrendous!
