Mr. Christopher Bown is an experienced attorney with a solid reputation of over 15 years of service. He is arguably the best criminal defense attorney in Utah. Before joining Stowell, Crayk and Bown PLLC, he was a partner attorney for Crippen and Cline. He also worked at the Salt Lake District Attorney’s Office as a prosecutor for 12 years. He has earned his exceptional reputation with an estimated 12,000 hours in the court room in front of many judges and juries. In addition to criminal work, Mr. Bown has handled numerous civil litigation in the courts. He has been the lead counsel in over 30 jury trials including homicides. Chris has prepared briefs for the Utah Supreme Court and Utah Court of Appeals. He has argued cases in front of the Utah Supreme Court. Chris graduated at the top of his class from the University of Utah Law School in Estate Planning and Family Law. He has been published in the Journal of Law and Family Studies. Chris received the Leary Scholar award in Family Law and Trusts & Estates. In addition to running his business, he is currently an adjunct professor at the Salt Lake Community College teaching police officers the legal portion of the Police Officer Standards and Training Courses. Chris has provided service to numerous people in Salt Lake County. For 2 years, Chris served as a Salt Lake County Alcohol and Drug Planning and Allocation Council member providing advice, support and advocacy to the Salt Lake County Division of Substance Abuse Services who serves as the local authority for the delivery of treatment and prevention services in Salt Lake County. He has also volunteered for the Utah State Bar as a Tuesday Night Coordinator providing free legal counsel to members of the public and recruited and supervised other attorneys to do the same.
