I just wanted to give a heads up to anyone looking to file a complaint with the Rental Protection Agency. I had a rental manager that was trying to get me to pay for bed bug treatment. My manager wasn't being reasonable so I filed a formal rent complaint with the RPA. I received my case number within minutes of filing and thought the complaint tracking panel was easy to read and understand. The RPA gives you a pin # to access your complaint online which I found quite helpful. There was an option to rush my complaint, so I did. (with bed bugs I couldn't delay this much more) Within 3 hours of filing the complaint the RPA had already updated the case and contacted my landlord. A couple of days later I received a postcard confirmation of my complaint. (You won't miss it, its bright yellow!) My apt manager responded to my complaint in a few days of filing the complaint. I though for sure the manager was going to put up a fight. But, she actually agreed to cover the entire cost of bed bug treatment on my unit. I found it weird that she didn't try to argue like she had done with me every time I tried to contact her. I wasn't thrilled my landlord made me get to the point where I had to file a formal rental complaint with the RPA, but at least the option was available. When I first filed I thought the process would be long and difficult. But, it wasn't. The RPA complaint center was a huge life saver for me. I couldn't afford bed bug treatment and was starting to go crazy from all the bites. The only thing I didn't like about the process was having to wait for my landlord to respond. The RPA sends out a written notice so you have to wait for the mailing to arrive. They do everything in writing, but that makes sense.

This is a life saver...or at least a sanity saver! I'd been having problems with my landlord from the time I moved in. There were some problems with the house that he said he was going to be fixing right away, so we moved in... After he had our deposit and first months rent and signature on the lease, that was it. He refused to fix anything and began avoiding our calls. I sent him certified letters demanding he fix the problems and he blatantly ignored them. I didn't really have the money to hire an expensive attorney, and didn't have anything in writing stating he was going to fix anything. Well, then the big problem happened... In early summer, the first time I turned on the central AC unit, it caught fire! The house wasn't damaged, but the unit was ruined and unusable. He told me to keep the breaker turned off and he'd have someone come look at it. Yeah, right. Four months later the breaker was still off, I'd spent the money to buy 3 window units to cool the house and still he hadn't sent anyone out to fix it, or even look at it. I filed my complaint and within 8 days, he was calling me saying he was sending someone out to look at it! I think I was in shock. Four days after that the unit was replaced, and an electrician came out to check the entire house! I seriously wish I had done this sooner...I would have saved myself a lot of headaches and stress. I hope to never need this service again, but in the event I do, I'll definitely use these guys. So easy! I barely had to do anything, they handled it all, and apparently scared my landlord into action. Wonderful!!
Imagine having a leak in your sewer pipe, and having the foul stench of sewer water around your house, 24/7. It's quite unimaginable right? Well that's the situation we were in. Leaky sewer pipe plus a deadbeat landlord, means trouble. We tried everything we could, we pleaded, we begged, he wouldn't budge. So we went online to try and find help, not sure how we came across this place, but I'm glad we did and gave it a shot. We filed a complaint through them, and through their magic (not really sure what they did to be honest), our landlord came to his senses and fixed the problem. We can finally breathe fresh non-smelly air again in our house :)
I am so excited to be at Donna Manor! I looked around and I see that this complex is the best for my money. I recently moved in here. The application process was really easy and straightforward. Kristen and her staff were really helpful, and they actually read the contract with you so you know what you are signing. They have bent over backwards to make my new apartment look and feel like home. I always look forward to spending time in the pool and hot tub, using the workout room and making new friends.
