The owner (picture above) of the place was yelling at a very old couple when I showed up. I intervened and things escalated quickly, so while we waited for the police to arrive found out that the husband was smoking to close to the door, even though he was just standing next to his car. That was it! I was obviously 86ed, and a waitress quit because apparently this was not the first time he's called the cops on customers. The old couple felt horrible, but really appreciated all the support.
Don't plan on a clean environment. Dust on the picture frames, fingerprints on the backs of the chairs, plates cannot be considered clean by any stretch of the imagination. If you get the corn bread ask if it is fresh today, I was given a gold nugget in lieu of cornbread. If you want your condiments on your sandwich, you must ask for them to be spread our you will get a lump of mustard in the center of the sandwich. Tried and failed to be zuppas.
Ordered a fill up meal- $11.49Reordered sandwich onlyTotal bill $26.48Waitress failed to mention that this was not all you canEat meal .Mngr took $2.00 Off because IDid not have dessert.Imagine how many people are being ripped off. Also the service was poor and wait staff not friendly. I'll never eat here again.Advise others to be cautious that they don't get Ripped OFF.
reading one of the reviews below it seems that they have a trend. they turn into monsters 25 minutes before they close the kitchen. We also arrived 15 minutes before they close the kitchen and they wouldn't even sit us! i indicated that they we still had 15 minutes before closing time and but we were still not greeted. i tried to explain that we merely wanted coffee but still the devils turned nasty.i was disgusted to see how different they were treating those already seated versus us.as far as i am concerned you ain't closed until closing time! change your closing time if u r going to turn nasty 15 minutes BEFORE closing time. (rolling eyes)get off your high horses and serve everyone the same!you can still turn away customers with a "smile" you know. trust me it won't kill you!
My company recently relocated our office into downtown SLC. Saw this restaurant's banner on the north side of South Temple at about E street (500 East) as I was headed back to the office from an appointment one day. Tried it for lunch. I had the Angus Beef sliders. Had a choice of Bacon BBQ Cheddar, Wild Mushroom or Manchego--couldn't make up my mind so I got one of each. Terrific. Came in to the office last night to get ready for Monday, and felt a little hungry so I tried it again. Ordered the White Truffle Wild Mushroom Risotto. Better. So good in fact, that I went for lunch again today. Ordered their soup of the day, Ham & Corn Chowder. Excellent. Waiters are good-natured and helpful. Food is consistently tasty. Atmosphere is super comfortable! What more can I say? Hope this was helpful.
