Afford A Move

I was a former employee at afford a move and any one considering this company better reconsider. Doug Maroney has to be one of the biggest scumbags in the business. He is not insured and has a heroin addict son running his crews that will steal from you. Do not be fooled by the name of this company, they are just as expensive as any other moving company or most likely more. Believe me when I tell you you can most likely find someone off of craigslist for half the money. He also buys furniture from customers to sell in his shop. I have seen the paper work on what he has agreed to sell it for and it is always more once he puts the actual price tag on it. Doug also is a recovering alcoholic who likes to pick up recovering drug addicts and give them a job at a discount rate for himself. If you want your possessions stolen, damaged, or maybe moved this is the company to call.

Do not use--worse movers EVER! Broke, damaged, gouged, scratched or completely destroyed ALL of our furniture (futon, bed, chairs, hand painted tables, glass table, etc). Very inexperienced crew, unprofessional, rude owner. Now owner (Doug) refused to return our repeated phone calls to settle our claim for financial payment. We will be forced to pursue legal action.. Use a professional with ties to a National Chain--Stay Away!! Deserves Zero stars but forced to give one

At first I was impressed with the company. There truck broke down and were still there only an hour late. After about 3 hour the driver and owner's son got into an argument. The swear words were flying and the driver threatened to leave. Everything was brought to the new place but 3 glass shelves for the tv stand. We call a number of time about this and finally the owner (Doug) called back. He said he would come over and grab the stand to bring to a glass company to replace the shelves. After numerous calls again Doug finally called back and said he would pick up the stand some time this week. My wife had a day off from work and try to plan a pick up time but guess what NO CALL BACK DOUG didn't call back. This is been going on over a week. I finally called and complain about this and the OWNER; NO CALL BACK DOUG and he hung up on me. HE F'IN HUNG UP on me. Can you get any lower than this for a company that advertises " Professional Movers " What a joke unfortunately the joke was on me for hirering such an unProfessional Bozo outfit as Afford a move.

We have used this company over the years and have never been disappointed with their crews. They know what they are doing!!!! I have used their services on both my office and house moves. Would strongly recommend them if you want your move done professionally
