Fillings
Resin Composite
Fillings are done to remove decay and replace affected tooth structure. It is called a filling because new material fills in the hole that decay left behind. Today, most cavities are treated with tooth colored composite resin fillings. These tooth colored fillings are bonded to the tooth, allowing much of the tooth´s structure to be preserved.
Veneers
Veneers are a dental procedure in which a thin covering is placed over the outside (visible area) of the tooth. Veneers are usually only done to the part of the teeth that are visible when talking or smiling. Veneers can be used to address a wide range of dental concerns, including chipped teeth, tooth discoloration, misaligned teeth, gapping, and worn down teeth.
Crowns
It takes two appointments to restore a tooth with a crown. On the first visit, the decay is removed from the tooth and it is shaped to accept the crown. An impression is made of the prepared tooth. After the impression is made, a temporary crown is made and cemented into place. Approximately two weeks later, the patient returns to remove the temporary crown and set the new crown that was custom made at the laboratory. The crown will be checked to make sure it is the ideal color and fit and then will be permanently cemented in its place.

Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment (also referred to as endodontic therapy) is necessary when the nerve or tooth suffers irreversible trauma. This trauma can be caused by accidents, tooth grinding, fractures, repeated dental procedures, or tooth decay. If left untreated, an affected nerve can lead to an infection (abscess). The initial symptom of an affected tooth is constant intense pain. The pain may subside temporarily until the infection begins and then the pain will return.

With proper care, it may be possible to return the periodontium to a healthy state. This is where appropriate gum treatments come in. If you’re having a problem, come in and see us so we can take care of it right away. As with many dental concerns, the earlier gum disease is identified, the better your treatment options are. The treatment may be as simple as a deep cleaning with our hygienists to more complex treatments and surgeries with our periodontist. Gum disease is a serious concern, but with the help of our office, the appropriate treatment can restore your mouth to its healthiest state.

Dentures
Implants can also be used to support as an implant bridge and replace multiple teeth. This is an alternative to partial dentures, and has several advantages. First, there is no adjustment period since the implants are just like teeth, so they are easy to get used to. Second, there is no discomfort or difficulty in eating. Third, and best of all, they are permanent and can’t be removed.

Dental Implants
A dental implant is an option to replace a missing tooth. In this procedure, a small titanium shaft is surgically implanted into the bone and allowed to heal. The bone grows around it forming a tight connection, which additionally slows or stops the bone loss that occurs when the root of a natural tooth is missing. Once the implant is firmly set in the mouth, the dentist then works to attach the replacement tooth onto the top of the implant. This permanent solution has advantages over bridge work as it does not require prepping the surrounding teeth for support.
