HRRMC has contracted additional GI services through Associates in Gastroenterology (AG) of Colorado Springs. AG's four fellowship-trained gastroenterologists see patients at the hospital's Specialty Clinic and perform procedures at the hospital.

The dialysis unit is owned by the medical center but managed by Sanderling Renal Services. Sanderling specializes in bringing high quality dialysis and nephrology (kidney) services to rural communities.

Kidney Stones- These are the result of excess minerals in the kidneys that form crystal-like substances in the urine. Treating small kidney stones involves pain medication to make passing it easier. In more extreme cases, a doctor may try to use techniques to break the stone up or suggest surgery to remove it.

Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center is experiencing the impact of the global contrast shortage utilized in imaging tests and exams. The contrast supply shortage will impact the timing of diagnostic imaging, resulting in delays. We are working to mitigate this concern through additional staffing and the extension of scheduling opportunities. Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy, or "chemo," is the use of strong drugs to treat cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, chemotherapy was first used to treat cancer in the 1950s and more than 100 chemo drugs are now in use. Your doctor will determine which chemo drugs to give you based on the type of cancer and how far it has spread in your body (the stage).

Board-certified, fellowship-trained Dr. Ramon Perez, D.O., is the medical director for the HRRMC Orthopedic Program, overseeing both our Sports Medicine and Joint Replacement programs.
Physical Therapy
We also have certified women's health physical therapists available for consultations during and after pregnancy. HRRMC's Family Birthing Center is one of the few birthing centers in the nation that offers physical therapy services to all of our mothers postpartum. Our PTs will advise you on gentle exercise to help you begin the healing process. They can also fit you for a binder if needed and provide you with education to decrease your risk of pain, incontinence and prolapse.
Occupational Therapy
Physical and occupational therapy professionals are available for patients and work hand-in-hand with nursing staff and physicians. In addition, the Discharge Planning and Case Management staff work with our patients on post-discharge care and instructions. They provide referrals to a wide range of support services and can answer questions regarding health benefits, advance directives and living wills.
