I was traveling through Salem, Missouri with my two dogs, one a Golden Retriever who was warm due to her long coat and the fact that my A/C had gone out. I stopped at McDonald's to get a drink for myself, and ice water for my dogs, but it wasn't enough. I needed more to pour over my Golden Retriever to help cool her off since she was panting heavily and obviously not tolerating the heat well. I stopped at Burger King on my way out of town and went through the drive-through. I asked for a large cup of ice water, and was told it was 81 cents! I asked for the manager, and she said BK does charge for water, but I think 81 cents is unreasonable for a cup of ice water, especially for the purpose of preventing a heat illness emergency! McDonald's only charges 15 cents, and Dairy Queen, nothing for water if you purchase something else! I got the water I needed for my dog elsewhere.
