I took my car to Tubby's for a transmission swap (auto 3 speed out, new 5 speed manual in) and some interior upgrades (new carpet, refurbish console) and a repair of the parking brake. When I picked the car up the carpet wasn't installed properly and the console (after being painted the wrong color) was missing a piece of the new trim that they lost (they put the old piece on, thinking I wouldn't notice- a blind guy at night would have seen it). The car wouldn't idle properly and there was an exhaust rattle when driving (the exhaust came off with the tranny swap) and the parking brake wouldn't work. I brought it back and left it there for 2 more weeks. When I picked it up again it still wouldn't idle properly, the parking brake still doesn't work......and they tried to charge me an additional $500 (original bill was $3780.00 for labor). I thought "at least the transmission is o.k.". Less than a month (& 100 miles) later the transmission won't go into any gear. I had it towed back to Tubby's and they said it was the clutch master cylinder. The vendor (Modern Driveline) sent them troubleshooting instructions (the new master cylinder rarely fails, usually an improper installation) and Tubby's wanted to charge me 4 hours labor ($300) to troubleshoot their own installation only 1 month & 100 miles later! Everything they did had to be fixed by another shop. No pride of workmanship or quality control here.This is the kind of place you hear all the nightmare stories about. Stay away.
Initially, I would have given Buba and Barrow Construction a B or B+ for the work performed despite some minor things that were never completed. As to the length of the project, I would have to give him an F. What was suppose to be a 2-3 month timeline from start to finish, ended up taking a full 6 months, and then not everything was finished since Buba had already moved on to other projects and was not willing to attend to the remaining work. What was so frustrating for me was the constant excuses he would give me as to why things were taking so long. Finally it occurred to me that Barrow Construction was either over extended in it's projects, was having serious financial problems, or both. As to the financial problems, that's a certainty. Upon near completion of the project, Buba was given a deposit in the amount of $1,500 for some roof work I was going to have him do as well. Shortly afterwards, he told me he would not be doing the roof and would refund my deposit. It's now been over two months and despite my many efforts to reach out to him, he has chosen to ignore my demands. If that wasn't bad enough, a few weeks ago I received a lien notice from one of his subcontractor's lawyer stating that I was responsible for an unpaid bill in the amount of $1,100. Finally, his stated 12 month warranty will not be honored in regard to a plumbing problem I encountered two weeks following completion, or a window that I pointed out was cracked at the time it was installed or soon thereafter. Since it now spans the entire length of the window, I notified Buba again after numerous previous efforts that my tenant was concerned for her safety as Irma was approaching, but again my concerns were completely ignored. I pleaded with him in my last e-mail to please just make this right and avoid the headache and expense that we're both going to have to endure through this process, but again my efforts were ignored and no response whatsoever. He has chosen to ignore the extensive documentation I've submitted to the BBB and will soon have his rating lowered substantially when his second 10 business day timeframe has expired to address my grievances. This week I'm going to be filing a complaint with extensive documentation to the Pinellas Board of Licensing Contractors to see if they're willing to do anything.
Anglo did a remodel on my dining room and was supposed to fix a leaky slider. The next rain it still still leaked. They came back and again said it was fixed. During the Aug storm we had a major leak no flooding. I had an inspector out to find the problem. He wrote a description of a slider pan installed incorrectly that was causing the leak. I have spoken the Adam once and he said he would get back to me. That was 3 weeks ago. I have left many messages with the owner Henry as well. I am very dissatisfied..
First, this company goes by multiple names to include: WSV Group, The Metal Roof Experts and The Metal Roof and Window Experts. I arranged for an estimate at the local home show in Tampa. The owner arrived promptly and had samples available. The price was comparable to other contractors in the area. I signed a contract with the company on the same day. The employees were very professional and cleaned up every day. My only complaint about this company was that it took three weeks to complete the roof. I suggest that others get a performance period in writing.
paid a little more - as to be expected with my bad credit.. but I paid my car payments on time and never had a problem other than normal wear & tear.. ya know, battery, tires..

Can not even rate one star. These people are uncaring crooks.300 dollar repossession fee???? Because i was having a personal tragedy in my family and couldn't talk, I was told i couldn't get the car back after being told I could with a repo fee of 300 and reinstating my insurance. These people seem to make rules and go by their own discretion. Hence, there aren't any "rules". These people want your money and that's it. A real company after , paying faithfully and on time for months on end would give anyone a fair shot.. these "crooks",not a chance. Run! Just run!
I was currently using a scooter to get to work and the cold days came.. it started becoming a little hard to actually get to work and back since i was nearly frozen. Eventually i heard of this place called bond auto sales which supposedly gave a helping hand to people with bad credit and welcomed customers with open arms. Once the process began it was a nightmare, i thought i would leave with a car at about $500 but nope they took quite a chunk of money to do the entire process (estimate about 1k and some change). The guy who i spoke to named james mentioned "oh you have a scooter? well don't worry i will buy it off of you to help you in covering all these costs some" bs as soon as i managed to get the car i tried to get him to buy the scooter as he had previously offered, he just ignored it. The down payment for the vehicle ended up being more than what "james" had mentioned and so i ended up paying even more. Now this is where it gets worse... he first mentioned that any repairs would be covered even though the car is "as-is" as long as i had made enough payments on the vehicle to sum the amount needed for repairs. So one day i went to start the car and it wouldn't so i was planning on taking advantage of this suppose offer to get the car checked and fixed and to my surprise after i called to inquire they said "no the car is as-is so you are in charge of the repairs" and here's the really screwed up part, the car has what is known as a "kill-switch" which is pretty much a device that buy-here pay-here are putting in vehicles to make sure that if a customer is late on a payment that they can't no longer use the car until the payment is made but i had made my payment on time no problem. Now the car is going on 5 months and i decided to take it to a repair shop because it seemed to be leaking oil... come to find out the cam shaft sensor is done, the oil pressure switch is also done and there are a few other minor issues but one main one that deals with the alignment of the vehicle and it's going to cost about $900 to fix. Also note that this cars original price according to blue book is suppose to be about $4k max and yet with the stinking financing they upped it to $10k.... for 10k you'd think i should have a pretty decent vehicle. It's definitely wise to know what you're getting into before you pick a car for your needs... i failed and i am now paying the price JUST for the sake of having a car to keep me warm and take me safely to and from work.. don't trust bond auto sales.
Not your traditional car dealership, I loved the process from start to finish. They weren't trying to sell a dream or just put you in a car to get the sell. They approved me and let me explore their lot by myself, no chicken hawking and still ready and available to answer my questions. Once I found a car they threw me the keys and let me test drive it, not your typical mom sitting in the backseat test drive, just me and my new car...
