Bayview OBGYN

I am pregnant with twins and I went to this practice until about week 15 of my pregnancy. I never once saw an ob/gyn, even though I requested one. When I moved and changed doctors, I saw an obgyn right away. She was shocked that I had never seen an ob/gyn as I am pregnant with twins. The midwives were great, but it is normal to see an ob/gyn with twins. Besides this, I was pretty frustrated when I had to call with questions. I was always referred to a certain nurse here, who acted annoyed when I called and actually told me on a couple of occasions to "calm down" and stop worrying about various things. Rest assured I was calm...it was very condescending and made me feel like I shouldn't ask questions. Now that I am at a new practice, I am treated with a ton more respect and actually encouraged to give a ring if I have ANY questions, as they are cautious and also very informative. Here is an example: I was going on a 17-hour-long road trip and called to ask if there was anything specific I should do/could do to have a better trip. The nurse said in a kind of condescending tone that I was too early in pregnancy to do anything different or worry. Well, sure enough, my ankles swelled to the size of an elephant's. Since I felt DONE with this nurse, I called the new office, and they told me to elevate them and get pantyhose. Just totally unprofessional and no way to treat a patient. Imagine how this nurse would feel if she blew someone off and something really did happen. This was only one example of several. I do not recommend Bayview ob/gyn. The positives, like the office staff and one of the midwives, do not outweigh the serious negatives.
