6/20/13 - I went to Rayco to get my convertible top replaced. This was supposed to be a "4 hour" job according to Ryan of Rayco. Instead when we dropped off the car, they said it would take a day and a half, yet still wasn't complete when we went to pick it up. When they said it was done and we returned again, the top was cut too short so they glued a section where they messed up, which is now visible and ready to peel. That's not the worst of it. They dented and scratched the car in 2 places and did not tell us. I wanted to take it to my own body shop because I was through with trying to work with them after multiple trips (90 minutes round trip) to their shop for the top alone. They would not work with me on that and insisted on fixing it through their body shop - Jim's Body Shop (jimsbodyshop.com) After leaving it for them to take care of, only 1 dent was fixed. So we had to send it back. Then the scratch was "fixed," but none of this was done competently or satisfactorily. There is paint over-spray on headlight seals, the black trim of the top, and the front passenger side. There is a portion that was sanded but not painted and clear-coated. The color on the panels they did and the original does not match. Rayco said they would make it right, but they have done nothing but try to get by with the least, shoddy work--and hope we don't notice. Neither the convertible top nor the body work to correct their reckless work is satisfactory. We took the car to our auto mechanic to check over for a road trip and he wondered what we had done to the car?! He said the value of the car is significantly lowered by the poor workmanship and the way the car looks now. We refuse to have the work completed by Rayco (or Jim's) now because we have given them multiple chances and it has only gotten worse. We asked that they open an insurance claim with their company to pay for us to go where we can get competent work done but they have pushed us off.
i had bought a new motorcycle and the standard seat on it was a little tall for me. A lower seat is available and i found a used one online, but it had a little wear and tear. I took both seats to rayco to see if they could take the skin from the new seat and put it on the old seat. I was very clear with my instructions and they said it shouldn't be a problem. When the work was done, i was less then impressed with the workmanship. Really messy with staples all over the place and sticking out at the bottom of the seat. I figured i could clean it up at home so i accepted it. I put the seat on the motorcycle and realized they had not done what i asked. Instead of removing the skin, they had taken the entire foam with the skin attached from the new seat and attached it to the old seat pan.??? At first i was baffled as to why they would do something like that, until i looked at the old seat. It looked like they attempted to peel the skin of the old foam, but it was glued pretty well to the foam. They gave up, and instead of calling me and telling me they couldn't do the job, they did what they did in hopes that i was stupid and wouldn't notice. I took the seat back to see how they could remedy the situation. They would accept no responsibility and insisted they did what i asked. I showed them the area were they attempted to peel of the skin, and he told me that if i could get that skin off then they would redo it. I was amazed. I came to a professional upholsterer to do that for me. After an extended back and forth and being called "rude" and "argumentative" they finally begrudgingly refunded my money. So now i have a shabbily upholstered original tall seat, and a ruined low seat. Bad workmanship, dishonest business practices, unwillingness to admit mistakes and correct them, and the place looks like it's run by a hoarder. Amazed they are still in business.

I had an old recliner and ottoman from the '30's that was owned by my grandfather. Unfortunately, it was in storage for about 10 years and moved a number of times. The result was that the upholstery was trashed and the wood pieces were broken. The chair was a mess.I took it to the Furniture Workshop and the the chair they returned to me looked like new. They did a fantastic job. The chair is comfortable and I use it every day.The restoration was not cheap, but the work was first class. Thanks to the Furniture Workshop, I have a family heirloom that will be passed down for generations to come.
Really bad experience with mr sines. Had cabinet doors refinished and took one back to repair work done as some blotches appeared on door front. Next day he left me a angry voice mail to come pick up door and when I arrived he verbally berated me on it being my fault the door had to be repaired accusing me of spilling something on it. He baited me into defending my position thatI had not spilled anything on the door so he could get angryer at me. Sines escalated his tirade and ordered me out getting close and I thought he would lay his hands on me. He got uglier in the parking lot. Needless to say I won t be going back. I have not seen such ugliness in a person in a long time.
