Just picked up our item, they do NOT take Credit Cards! We find that highly suspicious. The attendant removed all traces of store identification from the item. Its like we were never there. We won't be using this Cleaners again, thanks but no thanks!
Dropped my husband's dress shirts off 4 weeks ago. Got 3 of the 4 back. Called (almost 4 weeks ago)and they said they would look for the fourth one. I've called once a week since then. They have finally admitted to losing his $75 shirt snd offered me a $65 check in replace of his shirt. I don't even care about the shirt at this point but as someone who works in customer service, this is just terrible. They should have offered me the FULL amount for his shirt weeks ago. I will NEVER use any American Cleaners again.
I was skeptical going there after the negative reviews on this site, but I have been there twice now and I should say my experience has been great. The service has been good. They are open till 8 PM which is great. I had my headphones left in one of my suit jackets and they promptly saved it in an envelope and handed it to me on pickup. Their prices (with coupons) are competitive. Overall my experience has been great so far.
Took in a Louis Vuitton backpack to get the straps repaired. The owner told me a week and when I came back they had forgotten my item. Told me one more day, and when I came back it had not even been looked at. Again I was sent away for 30 minutes. I came back an hour later and I was mortified. The stitching was horrid and the straps were over two inches different in length. When I expressed my concern to her she told me I was wrong and then sat down and put her hand up to signal for me to leave. She was not willing to hear my plea. I not only wanted my money back but I wanted my bag back in the condition I took it in to her before the repair. Do not go to this shop for bag repairs, now my bag has no worth. I could have done a better job myself, and by hand.
I love this little lady she really makes my day and she does a wonderful job, I took my dresses in there and she transformed them and they looked beautiful! The only down side is that she is just a little bit expensive BUT she throws in a free thing most of the time like she put straps on my dress for free and added layers to my prom dress for free. I don't see why people don't like her she does a wonderful job!!!!
Very bad experience- My initial fitting was 6 months before my wedding, I checked on my dress about 1 month before the wedding and was told she had not even started working on my alterations yet. To make it worse I never heard back from Valerie regarding a second fitting. I called her 2 weeks before and was unable to get an appointment until 1 week before the wedding. Out of 4 areas of the dress that needed to be altered, only 1 of them was done correctly. When I came back 4 days before my wedding, the dress was already steamed and Valerie had not planned on me trying on the dress again. I insisted I try on the dress, and it was still wrong. At this time, I decided I had to completely change one item on my dress that I had my heart set on since I purchased it. The day of my wedding I was so uncomfortable because of "boning" that was added, which I did not ask for. I felt sick by the end of the night due to being so uncomfortable I had to take my dress off an hour before the reception ended which was really upsetting. Valerie is a very sweet woman, but my experience was very dissapointing and I would not recommend her services.
Three years ago I had Dorthy make me some maternity pants and they turned out great. I am now pregnant with twins and needed some more pants. When I went to pick them up they were awful...the panel actually came down onto my thigh and were made completely different from the previous pants. When I expressed that I wouldn't wear them, she still made me pay full price. So by the time I bought my own pants and then had her sew in the panel I am out over $600. The part that really made me mad was instead of saying something like "it would have been helpful if you brought in an old pair to show her how they fit" she said "you bare part of the responsibility". This to me is not how you treat a return customer...let alone any customer. To top it all off it took 4 weeks and 6 days to finally pick them up. She gave me a million excuses as to why it was taking so long.
