Insurance forced us to go here to get a referral to my wife's current doctor, who was & still is "in network". We were told she had to pay for a doctor's appointment to get the referral. After which she was told they wouldn't give her a referral, even though they don't have similar services as our current provider. We went through 3 appeals with them, and they still denied it. Not once did they mention any reason regarding health... only that they want all business coming through them. Money-hungry in the worst way.
I have heard stories of mission trips to Uganda for years. I have always felt a calling to go on a medical mission. Even hearing advice and stories from those that have gone on this mission before, I was unprepared. I was truly humbled daily in meeting and interacting with the people we met. Everyone was happy Thrilled, but most of all appreciative. It made me realize how much we take for granted, particularly those of us in the medical field. Having inadequate supplies and medications made us realize what we did have. I saw the hand of God at work daily. People that lived with little and had medical conditions that we in the U.S. would complain about, we rejoicing in what God has provided them.
We are a third of the way through a 12 week session. I am thrilled with the results. My 4 year old sees all the traditional therapists ( physical, occupational, and speech) I started brain balance because she was pulling her hair out. No one has been able to help that. I am so happy to say that she has completely stopped pulling!!! Before brain balance she was miles away from being potty trained.. now she is almost there! She is talking so much more and asking a million questions (something she didn't do before) Before brain balance she acted like a serious little adult.. now she is acting like a kid. I have seen so many improvements in such a short amount of time. We drive 2.5 hours each way to go.. it has been so worth it!
Great location, friendly practitioners, and a wonderful non-profit clinic model! Happy to support outreach and community involvement!
All the specialists you might need, plus urgent care, all in one building. All the doctors are phenomenal. Easy system to navigate.
I received excellent care in this clinic. The lactation consultants were patient and really tried everything, finally getting to the bottom of the issues I was having with my baby.
Please beware that 'specialty clinic' may mean that they don't quite know what to do, how to approach the patients' custom needs. after two dozen visits to Lifetime Clinic, I came away with a mere half pair of elbow pads, a rudimentary adjustment to my aging wheel chair mount, and NONE of the durable equipment that my physician and I sought. Doesn't help the process that they seem to disregard patients' input as so-called 'behavior'. And that they substituted an eval for new prostesetics with an eval for bathing equipment that I procured long ago. An eval summary running 15 pages in Single word wide columns is not accessible media to the motor disabled Estimated that Dep't of human services dropped 300 miles for this wild goose chase lasting 20+ appointments
It was my first visit to the Maplewood VA Clinic. I was there almost 3 hours and everyone was attentive, professional, and THOROUGH. I went there with some trepidation but left feeling that my medical care is in good hands.
I did the program for my 7 year old boy who has ADHD there. Promised the moon before the program started and that in their 1 year of operation there isn’t a client who has not been helped tremendously by the program. Was told my kid was making adequate or slightly less than usual progress during the program while we didn’t see any change at home. When the program ended, they admitted we are one of the unlucky ones who didn’t see major progress (we still could see none) and that we just needed to sign him up for another $$$ session to see the results.Another smaller thing, we were promised at the beginning that we can observe the sessions through a one way mirror they had, then whenever we took them up on that promise someone went in the training room to whisper to the trainer that we’re watching. Also, in the last month of the program, our County agreed to refund us for the part of the program in that month. We asked the center for a bill for that month and they issued a bill to the county that he got services for a certain dollar amount (one third of the program) in that month. When the County sent them a check for that amount and I asked the center to refund that to me they said they double-checked their records and realized his sessions during that month were fewer than what they quoted in the bill and that I should either apply the money to a future enrollment in their program or I’m not getting it back. I asked them to refund the money to the County and we decided we’ll redirect the money to one of the many other services my kid gets rather than their useless program
