I have used this credit union for over 30 years. The few times I went somewhere else, I came right back. Excellent service with concern about each member. Only once could they not help me, but gave me great advise based on what was in MY best interest. They are not like other financial institutions that give you what you maybe really cannot afford. They really want people to be financially successful. Who could ask for anything more!!
DO NOT USE.......BUYERS OR SELLERSWe entered in a sell agreement with a buyers for the purchase of our house on May 30th 2013. NASB issued a preapproval letter to the buyers for the amount of $267K and our mutual contract was $253K. Based on the preapproval letter they received from NASB we felt confident that we were entering into this contract with a buyer who could financially make it to close. In fact our realtor, Kenny, spoke directly to Nick Weeks of NASB approximately 2 weeks ago to get a status on the loan process and he told Kenny he had all of the required documents and everything looked in order. The buyers had their home inspection conducted June 10th, 2013 and the appraisal conducted July 10th, 2013, with the expected close to be July 31st, 2013As a result of the inspections we performed the requested repairs which totaled $4000, again based on the assurance and confidence that all loan issues were in order. Today, July 11th, 2013, NASB determined that the debt to income ratio and resulting credit score were not sufficient to complete the loan. We were informed by our agent that our deal was off, we have no recourse and we have no explanation. Our house has now been off the market for over 6 weeks based on NASB’s issuance of an inaccurate qualification letter. The interest rate climate has changed considerably and the considerable interest we had in our house as a new listing in late spring is now passed. The only conclusion to be drawn is that NASB did not do their due diligence initially and multiple parties acted in good faith due to their negligence. We have been financially harmed by their lack of vetting and reckless actions and may not be able to recoup. In addition to the approximately $4000 to fix the repairs, we will now have to enter into this market again, with buyers applying for higher interest rates, will be incurring additional cost and cannot claim the earnest money. We have done all we have been asked to do, have documentation of all our required steps and are entitled to equal disclosure and due diligence in return. We hold NASB responsible for the transaction being terminated and hold them responsible for the costs we incurred due to their lack of accuracy and lack of due diligence. We expect NASB to reimburse us for the costs we incurred due to their neglect.
Ghetto. No one in there looks like I should trust them with my stuffed dog let alone my money. Drive thru is unacceptable.
They have options and loans to assist with giving people second chances to rebuild their credit. What's the purpose of having the option if you are just going to deny them?
I enthusiastically recommend JoAnn Mattingly, Central Bank's VP, Residential Lending Officer at 425 N. New Ballas Place, Creve Coeur, MO 63141She was creative, helpful and overall outstanding in her help to my wife and me in meeting our financial needs. You cannot do better than JoAnn to assist you with residential lending business.
Very accessible bank with friendly, professional employees. They have helped us with a variety of notarized forms and specialty seals. Great staff!
We've been using ABECU for all our banking needs for 15 years. We do so because the service is local and personal and the rates are fair. I like the ties to the community that a Credit Union has. Highly recommend ABECU.
I agree with all the reviews. I'm been with the credit union since it was the Postal Credit Union. The service is bad. I have only stayed because I keep putting it off to switch. Each time I apply for anything they won't to charge high rates and I have to fight to get it approved with lower interest rates. I can get a loan through another source at much lower rates than Neighbors whom I have been with well over 25 years. Recently my son who is at an Elite College was turned down for a Credit Card but was able to obtain one through another source. I highly recommended him to change financial institution immediately. I told him they do not treat their customers very well. I'm going to make a switch very soon. Please Do NOT use this business. Better off at a big bank! I miss the former "Postal Credit Union"... I will give zero stars if I could....!!!!!
I love Neighbors Credit Union. We have had great service every time we go in to talk with someone. I have had assistance when my debit card was compromised and they alert me when there is any purchase or deposit over $100 in any account. Also, you have to report it to the police to have the police investigate, but Neighbors does get informatiion for you too. I also had assistance in a home equity loan and with other credit card type processes. I have been with them for many years and have never had a rude experience. I speak to live people during business hours all the time and I use Rita which I LOVE. I can say that those who are upset must have had other issues. Good luck to those who have had difficulty, but they are a great Credit Union!
