What a beautiful church! Father Marek is welcoming and is so active with the parish. He is very kind.

I'm really disappointed in the eulogy Father Gray gave today, which is really a reflection on him and the church. He did apologize and kept admitting how he didn't know much about my father, which he didn't, but that's not an excuse. As in any job, he had time to prepare, to ask people, to learn stories to get to know him to create a proper story as a send away or at least not leave a negative inaccurate review of someone without knowing them. I get where he was trying to go with his story, but it really was just laziness. Not knowing the name of the person, saying there was a "gap" in pictures, which there was not, instead of seeing love in the pictures shown, the amount of pictures shown and the time to put those together and if he even took the time to watch the slideshow the night before, not to mention keep comparing him to criminals . All the people there today know it was lack of you not "knowing him", but please either find the passion that made you become a priest or find something else you like to do because today was someone who just "showed up" and it is a shame because all the people that showed up today will not want to come back. Thankfully we ending on a good note with good stories, but please for the next funeral put a little more thought into it or decline.
Some of the finest public education you can find. The principle is amazing. The staff is renowned for caring for students. Great sports and camaraderie.
welcoming and openSt Gerard Majella is a really neat parish. The atmosphere is very welcoming to new comers and most parishioners greeted the strangers to help us feel welcome. I will definitely be back :)
Best school ever! The principal and staff are excellent and the students are outstanding!
I was leery of writing a review because I dislike those who only write reviews when they're negative. I will try to be balanced and fair. The academics are strong, the principal is fair and a good human being with an incredible work ethic, most of the staff are generally happy and overall I was feeling glad we found the school. The one thing that is discouraging is the prevalence (from our perspective) of negative reinforcement by teachers (not administrators). I think the teachers could use some professional development in the area of compassionate guidance and positive redirection. This would be a great school if those were more standard. I know how hard it is to be a public school teacher, at least I can only imagine, so it's hard to be too critical.
The campus is a safe place to attend. This school simply is fantastic! There are many resources available to you.
DON'T GO. There is nothing masterful about the institution besides the skilled forked tongue of the principal. If you have a student that is smart, bright, talented with great state test scores but not a wealthy then watchout! This guy will say anything, even blatant lies to convince you to place your scholar in his incapable hands! My student was home schooled. There were other great schools but all very expensive and kind of far. When we found this place we thought it might be God sent. The staff was nice, they seemsed to have a real focus on education and they were located within walking distance of my husbands job. Looks, and talk can all be decieving. The kids at this place are unbeliveable. Rude, loud, total lack of educational focus. My student was bullied and very little teaching happend in most classes. Only two or three of the instructors had any control of there classroom. after my student being assualted for the third time and finally getting defensive with words only, not even cursing, the principal, Mr. Peebles decided to TRY and suspend my scholar for a day. We withdrew our student immediately. Read my words. DO NOT GO.
I love this school went all my life and would love my children to go to Affton
I love this school. The best thing I could do for my second grader.
