I love the variety of meats they serve, the salad bar options that go well with it too. They bring the hot meat to your table and slice it off for you. They also ask about your cut as they slice it whether you want a medium or well done. So I do wish the servers bring it up, as well as asking about mashed potatoes or sides when they first start talking about the menu.
This is my go-to place for great food and ambiance.
I've been longing for a soul food joint close to Rock Hill area. There are skads of Asian, Italian and American food places; but no soul food restaurants. So when I saw on YP that 61 Roadhouse and Kitchen was in Webster Groves, I was amazed. My guy invited me to dinner on 4/6 to celebrate my birthday. Although it had occurred on 3/6!😂 Parking was hard to find. But, the trip was worth it. It was packed inside, we were seated immediately and had a gracious server. The decor is New Orleans fabulous and the live Blues band fronted by Eric Griffin was hot! They also have trivia night on Thursdays. The red beans with brown rice and grilled sausage was delish. The greens reminded me of my Grandma's cooking. The server was kind enough to get me some mint from the bar for my (Southern style) iced tea with lemon. The drinks were large. My guy had the pulled pork with Mac and cheese. The only complaint he had was the pulled pork was coated in BBQ sauce. So, he exchanged it for the fried catfish. He loved the Mac and cheese. Although we were the only Black patrons there, the other patrons sitting next to us reached across the aisle and engaged us in some lively conversations. I and the lady next to me were feeling out about Jesus Christ Superstar that was broadcast on Easter. We even hugged each other upon leaving. This impressed me, because I have had some unpleasant experiences in other establishments. If you're still reading, I will most definitely be returning to 61 Roadhouse and Kitchen. Hope to see you there!
This is Lambert airport site. Ordered two sodas and a margarita. Waitress was very casual, almost as if she didn't care. The bartender, instead of making my margarita, walked out of the bar and started talking to someone at a booth. It was casual conversation and not busy at all. We waited 10 minutes, all the while the bartender is talking to this other customer. No one let us know what the hold up was. Our waitress came over to pick up my drink and realized it hadn't been made yet. Instead of trying to get it made, or figuring out the hold up, she left and went to the kitchen. Nothing was ever said to us. I was waiting to board a plane, so my time was limited. No prices in menu for drinks so I just left some money on table with our unfinished sodas and left.
The atmosphere is killer. The ambiance is worth the average food. It's themed in a 1920 art deco. Like the Great Gatsby. You gotta check it out
The host at this business is totally awesome! Local news just aired a story about Goody Goody and the focus was on this great man. Inspiring!
Always have enjoyed breakfast here. They have homemade breads, quiche, etc. Nice outdoor area in warm weather
We live in South City but were driving north to see my mom and needed to grab a quick bite to eat. We would've ended up at Jack in the Box at 367 and Redmann except we passed this place and decided to stop. The guy who waited on us (I'm assuming the owner?) was SO NICE. He let us try some falafel while we waited (it was awesome). The food was good, reasonably priced, and had generous portions. Much of the menu reminded me of the Ferguson Burger Bar (RIP :( ) but then he added his own touches too like the falafel, schwarma, etc. Really good. Definitely will be back!
Wow! Very good friends took me here for my birthday so I don't know how much Sunday brunch costs but if you're looking for a great buffet to treat yourself or a loved one, this is the place. They also make a la carte items like eggs benedict and crepes at no extra charge. Excellent service too.
Longest wait for food ALL the time!
