I purchased a Groupon to use for my grandchildren and Westrich photography refused to honor it. Thankfully Groupon has wonderful service (unlike Westrich) and refunded my money.
Clearly they overextended themselves by selling too many sessions at a cheap rate to the masses. While that does show extremely poor business judgment, that is not where I find fault with them. It was the total lack of customer service. The people they had answering the phone to book appointments were rude, discourteous, and totally unwilling to help.
My advice: if you need a real photographer in the St. Louis you could do a lot better than Westrich. Quite frankly I think their work is overrated and overpriced.

I bought a ""Groupon"" to Westrich Photography for a one hour session and a high resolution CD with 10 images for $75. It was advertised as being a ""$1045 value."" My husband and I took our 3 month old in for family photos. First, the session didn't last one hour, it lasted only 20 minutes. We had about 40 photos taken (many out-takes included) and our son was being a great sport the whole time. I was a little bummed that the session didn't last as long as promised but the photographer said he got plenty that were good. i took his word.
When I got the proofs online, I was completely let down. In all the shots, the background wasn't completed covered or the overhead lights are showing. Many were over-exposed or under-exposed making the extra charge of retouching not much of a choice for us if we wanted decent photos. I would not recommend the studio shots to anyone. Perhaps outdoors or in an environment they'd be better. I don't feel that we got our money's worth (especially when advertised for over a $1,000 value) and being that it was our first child and his first photos, I felt let down. The quality and value just weren't there.

My husband and I took our 2 week old daughter here for family portraits. We were really looking forward to it because of all the great reviews. Unfortunately, we were less than impressed. We felt the photographer was annoyed by our request to change our daughter into a different outfit and when we had to feed her mid way through the shoot, he seemed annoyed with this as well. We left not feeling like we really got any good shots of our daughter. I gave 2 stars because I have not seen the pictures yet, but even if they look good we will not be going back due to the poor customer service we received.
I love my album! Everyone who has seen it, has raved about it, several have called it 'the best wedding album ever'. It exceeded my expectations and is something I will treasure forever.
The service you provided us in the run up to, on the day of and after our wedding has been first class. Thank you both so much.
