Haircut with Steven Preston is the best I've had since a Vidal Sassoon-trained cutter did my hair in 1996. Steven is a born teacher and is the only hair stylist to ever teach me anything about how to work with my hair and keep up with it between visits. All his staff is very nice, and the scalp massage during the shampoo is to die for. Hair products are of top quality and restored my hair's condition better than anything from the drugstore I had previously tried. HIGH RECOMMEND !
i love my new look Jene you are a extensions goddess . I can't wait to come back and see Nick and get my color finished to have everything blend perfectly. I give everyone a big 10 today you guys are the best i've seen in a long time. have a great week everyone.
See you on the 15th.

I've been searching for a new stylist for a couple of years after my stylist for 6+ years stopped working to start a family. I have been to at least 6 different salons during this time ranging from medium to high-end in both price and accommodations, and could not find a stylist I was satisfied with until I found Yvette at Preston Salon!!! I spent a few minutes in the beginning describing to her the type of cut and color I was looking for and she far exceeded my expectations. The end result was fabulous. I could tell from the moment she started handling my hair that she knew what she was doing and knew what I was looking for. I will definitely be going back, and would recommend her to anyone.

I recently moved to the area and decided to try Prestons after visiting their website. When I first arrived my impression was that it seemed outdated , dirty , and very crammed . After waiting for around 15-20 minutes I was finally taken to a chair, which probably is about average but I just was already at the point where I was feeling inconfident in the place . The young girl who washed my hair seemed friendly enough but was lacking appropriate clothing for her build and looked like she was maybe dressed for a night out with friends rather than work . Although , after seeing all of the other female stylists in there that seemed to be about the norm . I had a male stylist cannot (cannot remember the name) who I felt did a good job and is the only reason I would return , loved the cut ! My reason for giving the place 3 stars is that the place felt like it needed an update and the staff felt unprofessional .
My advice for this salon would be to update the place and do some major re-decorating . I'd also possibly recommend enforcing a dress code because the girls look to be more like over weight street walkers rather than professionals , nothing like the salon I went to in Arizona where they wore all solid color blouses and slacks . I am a middle aged women and find it offensive seeing bulges and spillage through a young ladies tights.
Bottom line ... Will I return? Possibly . Will I recommend ? Most likely not.

I changed salons because I needed to find something a little closer. Boy did I hit the jackpot! I met Steven and he gave me the best haircut I have ever had. He was so great at showing me the products that would make my hair more manageable and even took the time to teach me how to style it. I will always go to Preston for all my beauty needs! Plus, I felt like every one there was very nice and helpful. I highly recommend Preston Salon!

I tried the Preston Salon based on a Groupon I had for a Shellac manicure and regular pedicure.
I found making an appointment strange as I had to give them the Groupon number to confirm it, however I didn't think too much of it as they have probably had a few clients not keep appointments.
When I got to the salon I noticed it was well kept, if not a bit outdated. While I was filling out the new customer card one of the stylists was complaining about the pain from her black eye while another offered her Oxycontin. No one seemed to feel this was out of place.
My nail tech, Vickie, was very sweet and seemed to know the Shellac product well. I had Shellac on my nails when I went in, and they charged me a $10 ""soak-off fee"". ( For those who don't know, Shellac is removed by soaking your nails in acetone for 10 minutes). I've never been charged for this service at ANY salon I've been to before.
I've had Shellac on my nails about a dozen times and this is the first time I've had problems with the application. I don't think it was due to Vickie, but to old base/polish/top coat. These problems caused the application to take twice as long as normal. The reason I don't think it was due to Vickie is that she was able to correct it and did a great job on my pedicure.
Upon leaving they gave me a bag filled with coupons and a small sample of shampoo.
All in all, the experience was saved due to Vickie's upbeat personality, but I cant recommend this salon due to their ludicrous soak-off fees and old product.

I was looking for a new salon closer to my house. I decided to check out Preston Salon. What a great decision it was. Everyone was very professional. Jene took a few minutes to really think about what she wanted to do with my hair. I just let her do her thing...and I was not disappointed. My hair looks the best it ever has! The colors Jene used along with her creativity really gave me a WOW look! Not only is Jene an artist, she is sweet and lovely. I love my hair...and I will be seeing her again soon.

My friend and I both got our nails done with Vicky. She did a great job and was very friendly. She made us feel very comfortable. Some of the staff seemed a little uppity and snobbish like they were too good to talk to you, especially the workers in the reception area. We were thinking of going back for Keratin treatment, which they stated was normally $350, but they would give it to us for $300, making it sound like a deal, which it really wasn't. Depending on your hair length, you can get keratin for $250 at other places. I went to Glow and got it for $300, but also got a full size bottle of the shampoo and conditioner you are to use after you get the treatment for free, which is like a $75 value. All in all this place is ok, but I've been to better places with more reasonable prices.

I have been in St. Louis all my life and have been to several salons, but this was the most fun (and it has nothing to do with wine...honest) I have had in years. From when I first walked in to Vicki offering a handshake to my relaxing pedicure it was heaven. Then after establishing a quick friendship she introduced me to Jaye (the stylist) who offered to stay after hours in order to style my hair for a ""very special"" date. I just can't wait until my appointment tonight to see what he has in store.
Seriously.....run don't walk to Preston Salon. It is so worth every penny!!!
I moved to St Louis about a year ago and had been trying to find a hairdresser, but i couldent find anyone to cut my hair exactly the way i liked it untill i visited preston's. Everyone at the salon was very welcoming and professional, my stylist(Nicholas) understood exactly how i like my hair styled. I cant wait for my next haircut!
So I'm one of those clients that like to jump around. I dont know why, I just do. Until yesterday..I'm so serious!!! Zach did my hair we did a partial and a haircut. AND THEN he curled my hair, that boy worked wonders with that curling iron..I have never had my hair curled liked that, I loved it and I LOVED him!! SEE YOU IN 4 WEEKS BOO!!

I have been frequenting Preston Salon for about a year now and am having a good experience with one of the stylists there - Perry Driller. Although I have known the shop for many years from driving by it often, I never thought of going there for service. My wife purchased some coupon from somewhere that offered a first time customer discount and setup my appointment. Perry was my introduction to Preston. I am currently ""hair challenged"" due to a balding scalp, but Perry has done well to create an updated look with what little hair is available. A salon is only as good as its staff, so this is really an endorsement for Perry, but it appears that they have other highly qualified stylists as well. The welcoming staff is very pleasant and helpful.
As a new resident of Missouri and St. Louis, I was thrilled when a friend recommended Preston Salon and I realized what a treasure it is! Irina is absolutely fabulous! I require lots of root touch ups and have always struggled with making my color look "natural." She suggested highlights and they are better than any I have ever gotten at any salon in the past! I receive compliments on my hair on a regular basis and I love it! And the Kerastase treatment is the best thing I've ever done for my hair! Even if Irina wasn't incredibly talented, I would still patronize Preston Salon for the hair washing by Momma. I've never been so pampered! I highly recommend Preston Salon - they are absolutely the best!

My daughter bought me a groupon for Prestons Salon and I will be honest I didnt expect to love my hair this much. My stylist was Julie and she listened very thoroughly to me. I have never been given so many options and choices on what I can do with my hair. You can tell she definitely enjoys what she does for a living.
Not only did I leave with the best head of hair, but I also learned some valuable styling techniques from Julie. She took her time explaining to me what each product did and showed me how to use the round brush.
My only complaint is the salon was really busy and somewhat crowded when I arrived. The parking lot was full, so it took me a while to find a place to park.
Excellent customer service. I felt pampered the entire time. i love my new look! I will definitely be a returning client.
