Buys stolen goods

I recently had my double stroller stolen from me. I was calling around for a cheap replacement and found out that this store was selling my stolen stroller. I got the police department involved and after much hassle I have it back. Meanwhile the stores owner had called me and was extremely rude. He expected me to buy it back from him for the same price he had paid the thief.

Though the owner refused any wrong doing I think this business was either extremely negligent and failed to do due diligence to establish ownership before buying a very high end item. Or they didn't care that it was stolen.

Bottom line, be careful buying your strollers from a place like this that does not screen their sellers in ANY way. Strollers come with serial numbers and are registered. When the real owner shows up you will have to give it up regardless of where or who you got it from.

And after the experience I had with the owner good luck getting your money back from this business.

Beware! Dishonest!

My daughter had a really bad experience. She took her barely used baby clothes there and a new swing that was used 3 times. She dropped everything off on a Sunday and waited for a call, She never received a call back that day to see if they accepted her items. She called them on Tuesday and they could not find her information in the system and they did not know where her items were. After a few calls back and forth they finally told her her items were donated (including the brand new swing) and they gave her $20.00. A message was left with the owner and he never called back to try to remedy the situation. I think that shows what kind of buissness owner he is. I will not shop at Once upon a child or Plato's closet in Kirkwood.

Not worth the headache

I visited this store twice in the last three days, and both times had to wait FOREVER for assistance from the staff. Today, I walked in with a return -- there were 5 people working, and one other customer in the store. Why, then, was I not even acknowledged by the staff until after I had stood at the counter for over 10 minutes??? (when 4 of the employees were standing behind the counter!!!)

And when I was there 2 days ago, looking at cribs, the teenage sales clerk tried to convince me that my 19-month-old should be ready to move into a ""big boy bed."" Um, thanks for the faulty parenting advice, but you're practically still a kid yourself. And why try to talk a customer out of a large sale???

I did find the clothing to be well organized by size and type, but the prices weren't that impressive on most items.

Simply put, moms (and dads) don't have a lot of free time and shouldn't have to waste that precious time dealing with this crap. I'll be saving myself the headache in the future and going elsewhere. And I'm not much of a complainer/boycotter; but this store got me so cranky, I created this account just to share these negative experiences.
