The food is good but the service sucks. I order for my office often, and every time I call to place an order I'm placed on hold immediately, which is not a problem, but I'm holding for at LEAST 15 minutes. I ALWAYS have to hang up and call back which also sucks because they don't have call waiting so I'll get a busy signal quite often. SO I continue to call until someone answers again, and then they MAY take my order right away. It's crazy I have set in my mind, if we're getting diner I have to dedicate 30 minutes JUST TO PLACE THE ORDER! Once you go in and get the food its ok, but the order process EVEN IF ITS NOT BUSY is TERRIBLE!!! Good Food, Definitely need to work on the service

Five of us when for a breakfast business meeting. Not really set-up for groups more than 4 but we make it work. Great for sit at the bar quick breakfast. The guy that waited on us looked like a biker dude but he was extremely nice and attentive. Amazed a how fast breakfast was ready after ordering. I got a basic number 4 (meat, eggs, hashbrowns and toast) Everything was hot fresh and delicious. Saw a guy at the bar get a breakfast burritos and it was huge. Someone else in our group got pancakes they were huge and delicious.
Remember how hamburgers used to taste before drive-thru hamburgers became the standard? This small diner grills the onions that go on the hamburger...the burger is bigger than the soft fresh bun..and if you want cheese and bacon on that burger, they are whole strips of thick bacon and a real slice of cheese. Breakfast is hot and flavorful; Texas toast is on the side if you'd like. There's a daily special.
A varied menu packed into a small place. Crowded, so try for "off" times. Only cash and checks accepted. I love it!

Normally I don't write these kind of reviews but Olivette Diner is just to good to pass up. They have a great atmosphere, the waiters are friendly and the food is prepared well, the entire staff makes you feel welcome, something you cant find in other restaraunts. Breakfast Burritos are to die for!!!
A MUST SEE!!!!

This is one of St Louis' best kept secrets. All of the food is prepared one dish at a time when ordered. Breakfast portions are too large to finish. They have a ton of choices for lunch - I'd argue that their tuna melt and patty melt are the best in town.
The staff is friendly - they work hard to make you feel like a regular (even if it is your first visit).

One of my favorites. The food's wonderful, the staff's the best. Never had a bad meal or experience at Olivette Diner. Just keep in mind that it can get really busy, so it might not work for you if you're rushed or impatient. But if you want great food, excellent service, and an all-around experience instead of a gobble-and-run, you must check them out.
