I agree with all the reviews. I'm been with the credit union since it was the Postal Credit Union. The service is bad. I have only stayed because I keep putting it off to switch. Each time I apply for anything they won't to charge high rates and I have to fight to get it approved with lower interest rates. I can get a loan through another source at much lower rates than Neighbors whom I have been with well over 25 years. Recently my son who is at an Elite College was turned down for a Credit Card but was able to obtain one through another source. I highly recommended him to change financial institution immediately. I told him they do not treat their customers very well. I'm going to make a switch very soon. Please Do NOT use this business. Better off at a big bank! I miss the former "Postal Credit Union"... I will give zero stars if I could....!!!!!

I love Neighbors Credit Union. We have had great service every time we go in to talk with someone. I have had assistance when my debit card was compromised and they alert me when there is any purchase or deposit over $100 in any account. Also, you have to report it to the police to have the police investigate, but Neighbors does get informatiion for you too. I also had assistance in a home equity loan and with other credit card type processes. I have been with them for many years and have never had a rude experience. I speak to live people during business hours all the time and I use Rita which I LOVE. I can say that those who are upset must have had other issues. Good luck to those who have had difficulty, but they are a great Credit Union!

DISGRACE!!!!

They have never gone above and beyond to show me why I should stay with them or what it is that sets them apart from anyone else. The only thing they showed me was their unwillingness to help when someone from out-of-state used my debit card to make their purchases with. I was told I had to have the police help me, what a joke! The people that work for this credit union have to be the laziest one's I have yet to encounter. The long periods of waiting on the phone or even in person to just get your questions answered are beyond me. Please whoever you are, if you are ever looking to switch banks/credit unions let this be the place you DON”T even consider. Disgrace of a business!

We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with our customer service, as we do strive to help all our members in a quick and friendly manner. There are certain items that we request when fraud is experienced on a debit card, such as filing a police report. We still will investigate claims without one, but having the police report makes it easier for us to challenge charges. You are never financially responsible for any unauthorized purchases, but we need to verify that the charges were fraudulently made. We truly apologize for any frustration we have caused.

I seriously wish this credit union would fold. I have never DESPISED a credit union or any business like I do Neighbors Credit Union. The South County location is run by the rudest, most incompetent imbeciles I've ever encountered. I actually signed up for YP, just so I could warn everyone what a red nightmare nightmare they're in for, if they do business with this disaster of a company.

Neighbors Credit Union custome...

Neighbors Credit Union customer service is HORRIBLE! If you try to call them, you will lost in their electronic telephone system. I have never been able to speak to a live human being, no matter which branch/location I call. The RITA (electronic telephone system( and PCRITA (computer system) are nearly useless if you need to do anything other than check your balance. SAve yourself the frustration and go to a real bank with real customer service.

When calling 314-892-5400 it should tell you how many callers are ahead of you to help you judge whether you have time to wait or not. Waiting in line in the queue is the fastest and easiest way to get assistance over the phone. If the matter needs immediate assistance, you can press 0 instead of choosing from the menu, to reach the receptionist. She can direct the call to a manager if they are available. If you don’t have time to wait and would rather email us, please email info@NeighborsCU.org. If you prefer calling, you might want to avoid our high call peak times: Monday mornings 9-12, Wednesday mornings 10-12, and Friday mornings 9-11. Our goal is to provide excellence in member service, through all channels. This is an ongoing mission we are committed to achieving. We are in the process of working with our phone service to maintain a higher level of service that meets our members’ expectations.

I ABSOLUTELY HATE NEIGHBORS CREDIT UNION!!! I realize that those are strong words, but this place is insanely unprofessional. I am over 40 years old and I have NEVER experienced customer service this HORRIBLE from ANY service industry. Credit Unions are supposed to be awesome alternative to big banks, apparently this place didn't get the memo.



I sent NUMEROUS e-mails about serious issues and NEVER received a single response. What the Hell? Who runs a business this way. A manager, named Jeff, actually had the audacity to shut down my bill pay after I took issue with being billed a fee for the service. I cannot believe that this place made me LIVID enough to take the time to post a negative review, but here we are!



I sincerely hope Neighbors Credit Union fades into oblivion!

TERRIBLE customer service! On...

TERRIBLE customer service! Once I signed up for an account, it was nearly impossible to get a hold of a person on the phone. Their phone message actually says their offices are closed ALL the time.

We have since made upgrades to our phone lines, as well as eliminated giving account information (balances, whether checks cleared, etc..) over our phones lines for security purposes, as well as to keep the phone lines from being tied up. I hope these improvements will better enable us to help you and our other members. If you have any questions on your account, such as balances, cleared checks, transfer funds, etc… please call our automated phone support line (RITA) at 314-892-7878 or 800-325-2696. If you have other questions regarding your account or need help with something else, please give us a call at 314-892-5400. Our phone support department will be happy to help. However, please be advise that our phone support department is not 24 hours, whereas RITA is.

I have been banking with Neighbors since the mid 1990s when it was postal credit union. I was happy until I suffered a job loss and was contacted by on of the collections department representatives. I was treated very unprofessionally. She was very rude and could care less about my situation. I was 12 days late on my payment. 12 days! She treated me like I was nobody important at all! I have two loans through the credit union at this time and before my job loss I had never been late on any payment. I have had a few loans throgh the credit union of which my past loans were paid off on time.



I have recently paid off one of two of my loans and will be transferring the other shortly. They can never get my business again because of the way they allow their employees to treat their clients. The representatives name was Nikki.
