General Info: German Cultural Society is a nonprofit, nonpolitical organization that promotes educational and benevolent activities to preserve and advance the German culture, customs and language. It aims at cultivating German music, songs and dances in traditional costumes that make up the German folklore, tradition and fellowship. The organization has dance groups, such as Intermediate, Children s and Bavarian dance groups and young adult folk dance group. Its Danube-Swabian folk dance group is for individuals above 40 years. The organization has sports teams for bowling and soccer. It also has special interest groups, such as arts and crafts, ladies' chorus, garden club, needlework group, German kindergarten, reading circle, nature and hiking group and seniors' group. German Cultural Society is located in St. Louis.
