The only way to describe the food and service is simply "Outstanding". I had the pleasure of dining at The Drunken Fish at Westport this past weekend and I will become a regular. The night started off with a very pleasant greeting at the hostess stand and again by our waiter once we were seated. The bar was full along with the restaurant throughout our dininig experience. This must say something because as soon as a table was ready to be seated it was with many people still waiting to be seated. Our waiter had a great personality and was able to describe the menu in a way that made want to try something new. His energy level was high as well as his selling abilities. The food ranged from Appetizers to Sashimi and Nigiri Sushi and from Regular to Signature Makimono Rolls, Stir Fry to Fried Rice. The menu had many great items to choose from. After the many suggestions our waiter offered we decided on the Soft Shell Crab Apprtizer which was Soft-Shell Crab lightly battered with a Katsu sauce. Our waiter suggested a variety of wines and we went with the Greg Norman Pinot Noir which complimented the crab very nicely. We then decided to try The Drunken Fish Roll, The White Tiger Roll, and The Starburst Roll. All were outstanding in presentation and in taste which makes you want to go back and try them all. It is not only hard to find good food these day's but it is harder to find a server as dedicated to his craft as our server was Saturday night. I will not only be back but I will certainly tell my friends and family of my experience at The Drunken Fish Westport.
Sub par food, sub par service! It seems that Prime 1000 relies on out of town diners from hotels within walking distance. I can't see locals returning after their first experience. The service is very slow and in my case they didn't get the order right. The quality of the food was probably above that of some hotels but far below other restaurants in the area (especially for the price) They have a lot to learn about seating guests in the dining room. We arrived before 6:00 PM. The dining room was empty and the only seating options they offered were 6 tops. Not exactly great for conversation. We chose to eat at a high top in the bar area. Still not a good choice.
Absolute best in Soulard. Love this place. The food is always, I mean ALWAYS exceptional. Tuna Tacos, my husband's addicted. I love them too but want to try other dishes because I know it's all so good. Monte Cristo, OMG. Melt in your mouth. How did he get ham to be so tender? And the sauces, magnificent. Meatloaf, great. They even offer Creamed Corn as a side. This is NOT your mother's creamed corn. It's amazing. I always have to laugh as we pass the line outside Bogart's around the corner---those people just have no idea what they are missing only a block away!
I've gone to Harry's for the last 3 years on my birthday for karaoke, and I try to go as often as possible. They hold free karaoke on Thursday through Saturday night. The crowd is so inviting and forgiving, and MK the DJ is lots of fun. It's a fantastic environment for people who are skilled singers or absolute novices. It's lots of fun to dance too! I love their kids meal burgers too. $4 for a huge burger and steak fries! The waitstaff is friendly and fun, and most of them sing, too! Great times.
Hands down the best seafood in St. Louis!!! I've been to Oceano many times over the past couple of years and will continue to return when I crave fresh upscale seafood. The food is always outstanding. Service is attentive and friendly. Nice wine selection with some good values. Be sure to make a reservation because they are full most nights of the week. It's a great place to enjoy a relaxed meal on a Sunday evening (less crowded and more quiet).
They claim to be the largest bar and patio in the Lou. The patio is amazing, open play sand vball and the slip and slide on the weekends make it unique. Took my brother on his 25th with the parents, everyone had a blast. The only place I know that has reggae bands outside, the way its meant to be enjoyed. Only prob, gets a little to crowded after 1am, I guess because its a 3am bar. So we just take the free shuttle to the games and scoot after 11pm.
What is there to say about one of the last bastions of the “real” bar – Pool tables, Jameson on tap, & ASHTRAYS! I know those of you who hate smokers will stop here, but honestly the air cleaners do a great job. I am a former smoker & I have no issues walking in here. Don’t expect food though, unless it is the olive in your martini or the quail egg in your bloody mary…this bar believes in doing one thing very well….being a bar.
Friendly service, great food, alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and my favorite hooka St Louis, tied with Al-Waha in the loop! To the previous reviewer: I wouldnt ever try and pass a college ID off as official. So the lesson here is, don't get your license taken away and rip on a place that was doing what they were supposed to. Maybe you should respect the law more and not get dwi's!
Food was great, but we were seated in the back of the empty part of the restaurant, and it seemed like our server forgot us. We eventually had to flag down another server just to get a glass of water. Seemed like they were under staffed even though they weren't incredibly busy. Would sit at the sushi bar on the bottom floor, though.
Stopped into Ai Sushi while traveling in St. Louis! Excellent service! Had all you can eat sushi for $19.99 which included salad bar & soup! Sushi was excellent! The two for one happy hour was bonus! Quaint and clean restaurant! I highly recommend! Will definitely come back when in St. Louis again!
