Carl Westermann1 reviewa year agoRyan gave us the best price on a rebuild for our 2002 Explorer and it shifts ok now, but there were issues when we picked up the car. The oxygen sensor wires were not properly routed to the exhaust pipes causing one to rub on the drive shaft and one to lay on the exhaust pipe. We had to pay to repair the oxygen sensor. The shift indicator on the dash was out of adjustment and Ryan said there was no way to adjust it and that was normal after a rebuild. My dealer adjusted the shift indicator for us. There was also a significant oil leak that started after the transmission repair that my dealer found was a vent tube on the top of the transfer case that was left unhooked. In all additional repairs cost around $250.00. Ryan seemed to have the attitude that once the vehicle left his shop, the problems that became apparent were in no way his fault. He didn't even offer to look at the vehicle. This experience left me to conclude I cannot recommend Hy-Tech Transmissions to anyone.
Dave and Jim. Handled the phone like pro's. I have used other shops, but I will say they are better, and cheaper. Fast service. Better 1 year warranty. I had a small issue 3 weeks after my rebuild, they corrected it same day, no Whooie. I would not go anywhere else. But to them. Howard Johnson, Ps. A used car dealer over 20 years. The repair was on my personal Yukon.
Have 287 miles on this supposed rebuild vehicle has been back 3 times for transmission slipping and throwing a check engine light had it looked at by someone else and they didn't rebuild it they said they can't figure out what's wrong with it well I figured it out they didn't rebuild it like I payed them to do they a the biggest crooked shop iv ever delt with
Sitting at the Chinese restaurant in so. Co. By Kmart, 4 of these employees, did nothing but make fun of the young Chinese waitress, who was leaving, for NEW York, saying she looked like a squid, and the person from the GRUDGE....and 2 young women with tattoos and piercings, ...if this is a reflection of the company values, please, DO NOT USE SUCH A NEGATIVE COMPANY, THAT PROMOTES HATRED, AND RACISM.
Richard was very supportive through diagnosing a transmission leak on my 01 Ford Ranger. I decided to get a second opinion on the issue, as Precision Transmission originally said that the transmission case was cracked. Richard's crew verified that the case was not cracked, and only the transmission pan gasket had blown.I highly recommend taking your transmission issues to AAMCO, either right away, or upon receiving expensive news from another transmission shop
Fantastic place! They gave an awesome deal and stuck to their word/price even when the transmission job took longer than expected. Will definitely use again in the future. Highly recommended!
You know how there are people who makes worst for all and there are people who makes it all worth it, Dave, Steve and his dad are the people who makes a worthy difference in this world. I moved to STL recently and my transmission failed, no drive no reverse, short on money, I was calling every single transmission shop, people wanted to charge me price of my vehicle for transmission rebuild until I called Dave and he did a total rebuild in 1 day in front of my eyes less than half of the price for anyone else, he was so fast he could do it blind folded, which authenticates his experience of rebuilding over 35 years, and they went out of their way to make sure I got my transmission working well. I recommend Route 66 Transmissions to everyone. Thank you all.
They did a good job, my car runs great. I will come back for future projects.
