The food at Guo Bin is quite delicious, however, the service isn't exactly customer focused. On my last visit, the owner submitted their daily batch of credit card sales before all customers were finished. When it was time to pay our bill we were told we would have to wait 20 minutes to pay by credit or we could pay by cash. With $1 short of cash in our pockets, we were told to go to an ATM or wait the 20 minutes. Why didn't they ask us to pay early? Or, why didn't they wait until all diner's were finished with their dining experience before they submitted their batch? That wasn't made clear to us either and we never received an apology for our inconvenience. Late night diner's beware: although they close at 10:30 on a Saturday night, their credit system closes at 10:15 and bring cash or you'll find yourself driving to an ATM to find some.
I am not normally a fan of chinese restaurants because of the scare of the meat they are rumored to sell. However, my sister always visits this one particular Chinese restaurant. She has moved to the other side of town but continues to go out of her way, whenever she has a "chinese food" craving. I took the chance one day and decided to "try" it out. I was so suprised and shocked when I walked in the restaurant. It smelled like bleach. Not too heavy, but just enough to see it was clean. The walls were clean, the floor was mopped and the inside of the cooking area was very clean. They even rated an A under the Board of Health Certificate. Not to mention the food was extremely good and the vegetables were fresh. I would recomment this Chinese Restaurant to anyone who wants a really good and CLEAN environment.
My son & I went to this restaurant for lunch. Cause it was what he wanted before he was to leave for the Army Basic Training the following day. And I have to say, the food was great and the time for it to be served was fast. But the only problem was that the restaurant needs to update the website photo with the new current outside front. Cause we had a hard time trying to find the restaurant by looking at the picture on my phone. Plus it would be easier to find if it had a sign overhang above the door. Which would make it easier to see when your walking downtown. They also do offer a buffet style lunch around noon time. Plus this is the only Chinese Restaurant that I could find in the downtown area close to Bush Stadium.
This place has delicious EVERYTHING! My older sister is a picky eater, when it comes to Chinese food, and she said, "this is the best Chinese food I've ever had," when I bought her dinner. The food is very rich and flavorful. My youngest daughter, who doesn't really care for Chinese food, will actually eat stuff here, which says a lot. I brag about this place, all the time. The only thing that creeps me out is the hair that grows out of the guy's mole, who takes your orders. EEEEKKKKKKKKK!!! Creepy. Other than that, it's GREAT!! I am saving a star because I haven't had anything that has just BLOWN MY MIND, at this place. But it IS great, no doubt.
I have been coming here for 9 years. They got some good food here off the chain. Theys food here is like chinaman in the city. nice dark rice and some fire up hot and spicy wings. Why don't yall just give em a try. Look.... just tell em Mr.Looking sent you, and they'll give you %15 percent off your first purchase. Ain't no joke go ahead try em. it's like chinaman back in da hood. i love this place. i move out here nine years ago from down there in kingshighway and grand. And i ain't gone back. check dat! yall can give me a bad rap any days. try em they know me im Mr.Looking. Best Fried rice in town!!!
The guy who took my order is very friendly and very polite. I ordered Shanghai Spring Roll, Hot & Sour Soup, Singapore Mai Fun, and Fresh Broccoli w/Garlic Sauce. All foods are very tasty. Each dish contains high amount of food. I would have given 5 stars if not because the 2 main dishes are a bit too greasy. If they reduce some oils from these foods, it will be perfect! However, I will go back to this restaurant again for another try and will give another review.
I should have written this review years ago and honestly thought I had. This place has the best fried rice in town! I also get their egg foo young, too. I have recommended this place to quite a few friends. With so many Chinese restaurants to choose from, why would you go there? Because you can walk across the street and top off your delicious meal at Fortune Express with a Ted Drewes! Life can't get any better than that!
The Zhao family have been our friends for almost 10 years. They are trying to reestablish their business that was one of many casualties in Ferguson. Their American dream was becoming a reality. It's important that know the compassion that can be shared by complete strangers. Donate if you can…. Please share their story and help promote their gofundme account…. I was really apprehensive about going here after reading the past reviews. I'M GLAD I TOOK A CHANCE. This place has the most AMAZING crab Rangoon I think I've ever had in my entire life! I ordered sweet and sour chicken and it was fantastic as well. The lady at the front counter was not rude at all , she even smiled. This was my first visit to China Moon and I will be ordering from the exclusively from now on!
We used to chase around town to find Chef Hsu's latest spot, but gave that up when we tried the place just down the street from us. Webster Garden's food is consistently good, large servings, not greasy, with the best moo shu pork I've had in a long time. (It's the ONLY mu shu pork I've had in a long time.) And I like the people who run it -- always pleasant and helpful.
