I bought an inexpensive kitchen set from them. They were pleasant and the price was fair. When it arrived, though, one of the items was damaged--fairly severe cosmetic damage--on one corner. They proceeded to install it without asking me first, perhaps assuming that I had purchased it that way, since they do sell scratch and dent sometimes. I noticed it just in time before they left! But when I made a comment, the delivery people only remarked first that it wouldn't show, being a back corner, and then that it must have happened en route to my home, and simply suggested I call and ask for a rebate. It turned out the handle on the other item was broken, not easily seen (to be fair) . They did replace it quickly, but ordered the wrong item. In the end, they sent the right one, and were always pleasant. It could be sheer coincidences--3 at once. They are a family business, do have a solid reputation, or so they said, and have been around in the same location for many years. However: I had another appliance needing repair, not one they sold me. They referred me to an allegedly trusted repair shop, one they knew well...which outright lied to me about a repair, and left me with an unrepairable ruined appliance when previously it had needed a repair but could be repaired. When I told Slyman about this, there seemed genuinely surprised, but not perturbed at all: They expressed only mild apology, and said that the shop was usually reliable, but added that they weren't in business together; they'd just given me a name and were sorry I'd had a bad experience. But actually, they DID recommend this repair person as reliable, well known to them and trustworthy, and gave me his card. I took what they said at face value, as a customer should be able to do: You recommend, then you are putting your company's name on the line, too, and if they make your customer unhappy, you should do what needs to be done to restore your good name; even if it's just apologize profusely, yell at your associate business to make good, and (depending on how bad it is) even break association with the other business, maybe add perhaps some other minor thing like a discount on future purchases, or free smaller repair. As it was, a late-model non-working appliance (freon leak) became unrepairable junk (recirculating system destroyed, no longer just leaking!).

NOT Recommended. Appliance are commodities, so what you are paying for is customer service. Sadly, you will not get that at this small mom and pop shop. They cannot give you a 2 or 4 hour delivery window. They give you a delivery DAY. I took off work and waited ALL DAY for new stove which never came. By 1 pm when I hadn't heard anything I called the store since I didn't want to wait around all day for nothing, and hey - mistakes happen. They ASSURE me that a stove has been loaded and is coming. 4 pm - kitchen is a shambles waiting for stove. Old stove is pulled out, storage drawer is all over the counters. I call store AGAIN, they assure me a stove is coming. 5 pm, I need to pick up children but am afraid to leave house and miss all important call. Husband leaves work early to get kids. 6 pm - store staff leave for the day. I have no stove. 6:50 pm I call store and leave a message. 7:20 pm staff calls back. They don't know where the stove is, deliveries have completed. I cannot take off work AGAIN tomorrow. Delivery is rescheduled for day after tomorrow. You would think that if you had a customer call TWICE about a delivery and if you couldn't verify with your drivers that the delivery had completed that you MIGHT call that customer back before you left for the day. But nope, once they have your money, they don't care. On top of this, it was my kid's birthday, so there was no birthday dinner (we had to order pizza) and NO dessert and birthday candles. If they had been able to tell me, even by 6 pm that no stove was coming I would have made other arrangements, but I kept waiting and waiting. Staff is VERY knowledgeable about models and features. Next time I will pick their brains, find the lowest price and then go to Sears where they work on commission and negotiate the best price for what I want.
Jackman's Fabrics is the most wonderful quilting shop I have every visited. They have so many beautiful quilts and other items on display that inspire you to create your own. The displays change with the seasons, and there are always new and fresh ideas waiting to inspire your creativity. The staff is very knowledgable and always willing to offer their assistance. Jackman's Fabrics continuously offers classes in the many sewing arts, including embroidery, bringing in top artists in their field of expertise. They are a one-stop shop for purchasing your new machine, to sewing/quilting accessories, to home decorating supplies! A wonderful, inspiring shop!
my A/C had gone from 70 degrees in the am to 89 degrees in the pm….so needless to say, my place was hot….. I contacted Total Comfort, Emergency Services, since it was after 5 pm……I left my information and within 10 minutes or so, I was contacted……within 15 minutes or so, they were at my door……they were able to figure out the problem and replace the needed part to get my A/C working properly……I was able to use the YP coupon from the back of the directory for the service call…… Just want to say I was impressed at how fast I was contacted and how fast the work was taken care of…….they did a good job
I was initially concerned about taking my appliances there based on the first review. I discarded the second review, as it is unethical to submit a review based on another review rather than one's own experience. My father-in-law had good dealings with them in the past, so with one positive and one negative opinion, I decided to give them a try. The gentleman there was very professional and courteous. He had my two appliances fixed within 24 hours and was reasonably priced. I would recommend them without reservation to anyone.
Couldn't ask for a better company! Very friendly, fast & knowledgeable staff, from the moment Ken came to the house until after the men got done installing our new unit. I have been recommending them to everyone, and will continue to do so. You will not be disappointed, so give them a call! Am so glad I now have them as my Heating & Cooling company for years to come!! Thanks again Total Comfort, an amazing job done well!
Just had RSI assist in the redesign of my kitchen. Arlene Allmeyer of RSI was very creative and greatly assisted in developing a kitchen that we just love. We bought flooring, cabinets and appliances from RSI, all very good quality but somewhat expensive (competitive but expensive). The follow up and customer service was great. Would definitely recommend them, especially Arlene, to anyone.
Great selection of products and excellent customer service. We bought a beautiful bathroom vanity but our first one came with a few chips in the marble top. I made a phone call and arrangements were made for a new top to be sent for replacement. The professionalism of each person we encountered was superb. Kelly assisted us from beginning to end and was very knowledgable and accommodating.
The best place for Appliances in St. Louis. They beet all the big box stores and also I was able to get a better price on a new in box washer and dryer then Appliance Discounters which were selling them for more and they had defects. Plus Slyman Bros free delivery is always a plus.
This is an awesome store! And they have 3 locations! Their service is beyond compare. I bought a sewing machine, and they took such good care of me, unlike like the "other dealers" who left me hanging. Jackman's also has a huge amount of fabric and great displays and ideas!
