This was the worst experience I have ever had with car repairs. Kruse's lacked the expertise needed to get my vehicle running, but was happy to charge me for labor hours that did nothing for my truck. Essentially, I was charged $800 to drive my truck 3 weeks before it broke down again and I had to take it to a capable, trustworthy mechanic.
Had them do some work for me two years ago and they were competent, polite and informative. I needed a similar service today and my experience was completely opposite. I spoke with the owner, Joe for the most part, with the exception of their explanation of what was wrong and what they couldn't do, which included they service I was there for. After 30+ mins, a condescending directive to "go look at what they were talking about", and a thoroughly uninformed explanation by the teenager assigned to my car, nothing was done. The owner, back in the conversation again, became very rude, in fact resorted to name-calling and belligerent as if I had said or done something to offend him when I had simply sat quietly through this entire process awaiting a solution to a simple problem that ANY well equipped shop in business as long as they have been should have. In the end he charged me $42 to tell me "I brought him a turd and he knew it was going to be a problem from the beginning" also that I "wanted something for nothing", and he "just wanted me gone", after I handed him my card and signed the ticket. Clear prejudice and discrimination. I have never been treated so poorly by a business owner. Patronize this business at you own risk.
L. Wilcoxsonin the last weekCalled my Allstate auto club to get a tow. My policy provides for a tow up to 50 miles. Collision Repair Specialists or "Collision Despair" (the nickname many know them by ) accepted the tow and I received an ETA text from Allstate. After hearing of others past experiences with this company back when I worked in St. Joseph, I started to ask for a Nother provider. I then thought to myself maybe all of the stories I heard we're not true. 30 minutes after the ETA time I called Collision Despair for an update. The lady who answered said she would call Jimmy the driver and have him call me. I waited 25 minutes for that call before calling Allstate back. Allstate advised me that Collision Despair, after all this time has passed, decided to decline the tow as it was too far for them. As previously stated my contract provides for a tow up to 50 miles the location I was requesting to be towed to 31 miles away. After waiting another hour plus Allstate finally found All City Tow in St. Joseph to take care of my tow. Apparently All City is more concerned with taking care of customers then getting their face plastered all over billboards and trucks. If you ever need a tow in that area please call All City Tow, or have your time wasted by Collision Despair Specialists and their merry band of flunkies.
