About Search Results

YP - The Real Yellow PagesSM - helps you find the right local businesses to meet your specific needs. Search results are sorted by a combination of factors to give you a set of choices in response to your search criteria. These factors are similar to those you might use to determine which business to select from a local Yellow Pages directory, including proximity to where you are searching, expertise in the specific services or products you need, and comprehensive business information to help evaluate a business's suitability for you. “Preferred” listings, or those with featured website buttons, indicate YP advertisers who directly provide information about their businesses to help consumers make more informed buying decisions. YP advertisers receive higher placement in the default ordering of search results and may appear in sponsored listings on the top, side, or bottom of the search results page.

My son has gone to this TKD school for about a year, and he really loves it. Master David teaches the kids discipline and mastery of martial arts, but still keeps it fun for them. This is a nice TKD school, and prices are very reasonable. Plan to enroll my other son soon.

In this new world of instant communication, it’s very convenient to “comment” and put your “opinion” out there for all to see. Certainly, as is evidenced by Facebook and other social networks, opinions can be erroneous in nature and as vitriolic as is necessary to convey hurt feelings for vengeful purposes. As I do understand Mr. Trowels (whom I have never actually spoken to, since he kept very much to himself at all times in our facility) feelings concerning his son’s dismissal from our classes, I also must take into consideration the suitability of their son for Martial Arts training and the possible negative effect on the rest of the class he attended. This is true for every person that trains in an art that teaches people to hurt others in order to be insured of their ability to stand up for themselves. It must be up to the trained judgment of the Instructors to realize this liability and act upon it. Luckily it rarely is necessary, but is never easy to do. As a parent of three adults and valued members of our society and having been involved with positively affecting children’s lives through Martial Arts for close to 20 years, I acknowledge that my firm handling of our students can be off-putting to some. In the team that my husband and I have created, someone has to play the bad guy sometimes, with the intended result to test and strengthen the resolve of the students towards the hard work that this type of training requires. Hopefully a student learns something about themselves and is better prepared to thrive in a tough world. While it is unfortunate that sometimes a student is found to be unsuitable for our program, and the parent must be informed, in this case the Mrs. had to break the bad news. While Mr. Trowel was never spoken to, Mrs. Trowel was and I suspect her hurt feelings had to be vented somewhere to get the best return. Since I am held in the higher position than her to demonstrate respect and courtesy, none of these transactions with her were done in front of others. It was with all honesty that I conveyed the bad news and where my honor came into play, I’m just not sure. I would venture to guess that more than one parent has found my techniques for teaching their children sometimes harsh, but private intimidation is not one of them. Lastly, I would expect that many more students find my directness to be effective and tolerable. My husband and I welcome all current and new students at our facility, but stress that hard work is expected and necessary.Ms. Tina

Our famiy loves this place. The instructors are great with the children. The kids have a great time together as well as learning the disipline and the martial arts techniques. We have been with Premier Kenpo for 3 years and it has been a wonderful 3 yrs. We have never had a negative expierence. I highly recommend this place if your looking for a good and honest place to learn karate. They have classes for all ages groups.

It is with much regret that I must warn parents about Premier Kenpo Karate. While the instructor seems dedicated to his students, the Mrs. is abrasive and difficult to deal with. An unfortunate situation (explanation below) happened with my son, and when I attempted to address it with her, her response was to accuse him of lying and kick him out of their classes - in a belittling manner. When all this went down, she intentionally intimidated him when I was not present. VERY unprofessional! And I had to explain to my confused 10-year-old son why someone who is supposed to be an example of respect, honesty, and courtesy bullied him - for having the courage to stand up for himself no less, which is what they promote teaching on their website. For owning a business based upon an art centered around honor, she should refresh her understanding of what that word means and how to treat her paying clients - ESPECIALLY THE CHILDREN! *** UNFORTUNATE SITUATION EXPLAINED: One day in the back room of Premier Kenpo Karate, Ms. Tina was illustrating kicks. Her pants fell lower than they should have, and, because she was not wearing any undergarments, my son’s innocent eyes saw more than they should have. He was mortified and asked me to ask her to put some undergarments on because he was concerned it would happen again. When I attempted to do that, rather than taking responsibility and apologizing to my son for her indecent exposure, she accused him of lying and kicked him out of their classes. This is exactly why victims (especially children) do not come forward when inappropriate things happen to them. Shameful!
