– In addition to using expanders for early orthodontic treatment, Dr. Demko routinely performs orthodontic expansion on adults, as late as 60 years old, to improve airway and restore youthful facial appearance. These expanders can be an effective alternative to jaw surgery or extraction.

There are many reasons why one treatment will fit a patient's needs and desires more than another. We will never pressure anyone into choosing one treatment over another, but guide you to choose the treatment that best addresses your goals. We will ALWAYS thoroughly review all available options, including those we will not offer. For example, we try to avoid tooth extraction whenever possible, whereas others will offer extraction as a reasonably viable dental option. We will decline such an option if we feel it will negatively impact your airway.
