I had an absolutely horrible experience. I brought in my prom dress to be taken in around the bust. I got the dress back, tried it on in the store, and it fit just fine. It was rather tight and the lady who altered it said, "Has it always been this tight?" I thought that comment was odd because she is the only who took the dress in. Got it home, and I couldn't get it zipped! It is obvious to me that the lady had not even zipped it up all the way and had tricked me. I couldn't fit into it at all. We called the store, and the lady said she would fix my dress. Fifteen minutes later, the manager calls back, cusses me out and says, 'I will not fix your dress. I don't care what you say on social media." Stay very far away from them!

Terrible service! My shoes were not finished when promised. They didn't even call me to tell me. When I went in to pick them up the lady couldn't find them. I found them. The guy was at lunch and I had to leave. I called later and was told they wouldn't be ready until next Saturday!! When I asked if they could be ready by Friday (already 7 days late) he said "we'll try". Customer service is non existent. And they expensive on top of it.
I am disappointed at this shopkeeper. While I have been patient over the years of him losing my dress shoes for weeks at a time after calling me that the shoes were complete, but today is the final. My wife took in my leather briefcase to have 4 stitches sewn to hold the shoulder strap on September4th and she checked in in 4 weeks after prepaying for the small repair. She went in two more times to check on it and the last time it was lost and she spent 30 minutes waiting for the keeper to find it. I went in today after 12 weeks to check on the status. The shopkeeper told me that shoes come first is the policy, so I asked to get my leather briefcase back. He could not find it and told me he would call me. I told him that I would wait- I did for 30 minutes while he searched and did not find it. I told my wife who was in the car. She said I know where it is from my last visit 4 weeks ago. She went in and pointed it out to him then he could not find the strap! He was unapologetic and I had to ask for my money back! The repair would have taken 10 minutes-so why not just fix it and keep a customer?Crotchety old man who is arrogant and I would NEVER take anything there!
I always get well taken care of at Phydella's Alterations, the staff is endlessly helpful and always willing to work with my specific requests. And with two growing kids, im constantly in and out of their shop. They are quick and very well priced compared to other places in St. Charles/ St. Peters, believe me I have looked. I highly recommend them for any type of clothing alteration.
Phydella's is great! A few months ago, I brought in a pair of dress pants. Nicky, worked on them, and she was wonderful! She definitely knew what she was doing. And on top of that, she was so nice! I definitely reccomend this place!
I’m not one to write bad things about places, but I was really upset with the work that was done at Phydella. I had three tank-top dresses that just needed the one inch wide straps to be shortened. I thought it would be super easy and cheap. The lady that helped me was very nice, but I was really surprised after she pinned the straps that she quoted me at $22 a dress. Two of the dresses only cost $15 to buy! They were just jersey tanks dresses. I thought it would be closer to $10 a dress. Then, when I picked up my dresses, I expected the straps to look like they do on any Old Navy type tank top, but the material was two different widths at the new seam that they made. And on one, the material was centered on one strap and then aligned left on the other strap. Then, another one had a hole in the seam they made. I was upset about the dresses, but hoped to take them back and just get them fixed. When I got there the lady that did my dresses tried to defend the job and how it looked. The lady finally called the owner over after I wouldn’t back down. Then owner tried to give me a fix on one dress that didn’t make any sense to me and wouldn’t look right. I believe it was just the easiest fix for them, not the correct one. After I wouldn’t back down again, they finally said they would do what I wanted. In the end my dresses look fine, but I will never go back there.
