St. John's Lutheran Church inspiring mission, "Live God's Love in the World" is shown by the warm and friendly pastors, the congregation and its activities. St. Johns started the St. Johns Shelter for Women and Children and facilitated it becoming a non profit to obtain grants and donations in addition to church support. Part of the church message is that it is an urban church helping to address social issues in Sacramento, e.g. Food Bank, the homeless, and other issues. St. Johns focuses on its youth and all ages of its members. The church and sanctuary are beautiful with a wonderful sounding organ and choir. I was raised a Lutheran and have always appreciated the progressive Lutheran faith.
Awesome church filled with loving people. This church goes beyond the church bulding taking time to serve ans impact the community. Definitely would recommend that you come and check it out for yourself.
I personally contacted the church to advise them that the husband I married was a bigamist and married to someone else. They did nothing. How do you allow this type of behavior from your church member and then allow them to hold a position in church. To my knowledge they are suppose to be sat done until their life is in order.. I would not donate one dime to this church.
Best satellite church ever. The praise and worship that bethel has is like no other!! They bring the rain!!
Such a good place to worship! Music is goo, the sermons are good. God shows up and changes lives. Love.
Sadly, not the Church I would like to attend due to a negative contact with pastor Les Simmons and staff. I have a nonprofit organization that used to work under Lord's Gym, helping the troubled youth to come to the knowledge of Christ and have their burdens lifted. I've worked with many kids and seen them changed their lives. Recently, South Sacramento Christian Center bought the building where I used to work with these struggling kids. With God's help, I invested a good amount of time and money to buy equipment to help these amazing kids to see them come to life. A few days ago, I found out that the gym I used to work, for God's glory, was under a new ownership. I went there to talk to the staff and they put me in contact with pastor Les. Pastor Les said he's going to call me back the next day to tell me how I'm going to get my equipment back, so I can use it in a different place. After a few days of waiting, I was really disappointed that he never called me back. I went back to the church to try to get in touch with pastor Les, and the staff sent me back and forth to different places that were closed. I showed them all the receipts for my equipment with the serial numbers. After a while, the staff sent me away without helping me reach pastor Les, or letting me have my equipment back. I was shocked and troubled to hear that pastor Les will inform the authorities that if I go back to the church he's going to have a restraining order against me. Jesus said: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28. How does this church apply this verse if they use restraining orders against people going to church?p.s. all the conversations were peacefully.
The atmosphere is the present of the holy spirit. It is like having a intimate relationship with the feeling of deep love, I have not found that close relationship until I went to More Life Worship Center. Amen
