I am a defense attorney in Sacramento and I strongly discourage anyone from using this bail agency because, though they were courteous, they refuse to offer the 2% discount off of the 10% standard bail when someone hires a lawyer if the bond has already been posted. Their position is that the bailee must have had a lawyer prior to posting bail with them to qualify for the discount. Aside from the absurdity of that requirement (almost no one has retained a lawyer before they bail out of jail), it is nearly industry standard to offer this discount to people retroactively after they have posted bail if they hire a lawyer; this includes all the big bail companies and all of the small ones that I have ever dealt with. This 2% discount (which amounts to a 20% discount off of the fee that you pay) can be hundreds or even thousands of dollars depending on your bail. Example: $20,000 bail requires paying a fee of $2,000 to the bail agent at the standard 10% rate. With the 8% rate if you hire a lawyer, you would only pay $1600.00 thereby saving you $400.00. This bond company refuses to make that offer if you don't have a lawyer first even though everyone else makes the discount available retroactively.

When asked about offering the discount to my client, their manager simply stated that "the owner doesn't do things that way." She said the owner would call me back but he never did.

These people are courteous on the phone and accommodated my client by driving him away from the jail when he was bailed out, but they are a bad deal all around financially speaking.

STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY unless they change their policy.
