So let me get this straight, you "Heard" but didn't actually step foot into the gym to see for yourself, therefore you are making false accusations. Master Andy K was the first to bring Muay Thai to the Sacramento area, he taught alot of students who some are now instructors, teaching his techniques, he was and still is a great instructor, he treats everyone exactly the same, he favors no one. If some of his students are getting ready to compete, of course he's gonna spend more time with them or have someone with more experience help them prepare, it's common sense. If you have anything else to say, or the buddies that told you these false things, you are more than welcome to pay us a visit. We are now located off of Folsom blvd. We'll get things straightened out. Thanks for your time.
DO NOT JOIN!! Hello, I have heard about Muay Thai Lao (MTL, if you will) from current members and their reviews are not good. If you look up MTL on the web you will find the primary instructor--Andy K, which is short for Khensamphaph--in pictures of Urija Faber and "Body Core." HOWEVER, THAT WAS BACK IN 2008!! Today, Andy K is simply not the same person. He has lost his internal flare for the art of Muay Thai. The people I speak to tell me this as three foundational truths: (1) Andy K was a great instructor and teacher, but now he is unmotivated and does not respect his students; (2) if you progress or show promise as a fighter, the other students who currently compete will show you disrespect and Andy K will ignore your talent, thus, preventing you from reaching your full potential; and (3) Andy K favors certain students over others in that an advanced level student who Andy K dislikes will be paired with a "green horn"--a new guy; whereas, a mediocre student who Andy K likes will be paired with a more experienced student. Furthermore, Andy K constantly demeans his students by telling them, "you are not professionals so don't act like you're good or anything." That is a pretty messed up thing to say to your students and sure does not allow a student to reach their full potential. If you do not believe me, then show me a review that is NOT LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD THAT IS NOT FROM ONE OF ANDY'S FRIENDS that talks about his abilities as a teacher. ANDY K HAS BEEN LIVING ON HIS REPUTATION FOR YEARS ... BUT THAT IS ALL HE STILL HAS AS AN INSTRUCTOR. If you still don't believe me, just join for three months and see for yourself. Don't get me wrong, I totally respect Andy K for his accomplishments, but there has to be someone with the #$%^& who will speak the truth. -- D. White.
