I'm gonna keep it real...................Margaret is a true blessing! My mother and I have been customers of Margaret's/ Hair Gallery for the past ten years. I've been fortunate to watch this lady prosper in many ways throughout the years. She is a real professional and her skills are hands down...........the best. She is a business woman who gives her best to her customers and you will receive excellent customer service from her staff as well. Each customer that she services represents her skills when they walk out that door and you can believe she doesn't disappoint. I have referred many friends to Margaret over the years, and I can say they are still her clients. My friends and I concur that Margaret will continue to receive our business as long as she continues in business and I hope that will be for a very long time (just being selfish). God has blessed us all with different skills and talents and Margaret has truly found hers. She have been a blessing to many people in many ways (not just in her occupation)and it shows in her generosity. God Bless you and your staff.
Margaret's Hair Gallery is by far the best hair salon in Sacramento, and even the Bay area! Prior to my move to Sacramento, I searched high and low for a quality hair stylist in San Francisco and Oakland. I had nothing but bad experiences, including no shows and and over-priced services.... I even had one stylist put me under the dryer for 4 hours in one day so that she can get through all of the many clients she booked at once!
I found Margaret's online and had a great consultation. No one can deny that Margaret knows her stuff... she has the knowlege, experience and skill that most do not have. That is why I made the 2 hour drive (from SF to Sacramento) several times to see Margaret and Erica for weaves, styles and overall maintenance (they do it all). Now that I live here, my hair always looks good and healthy! My once broken/damaged hair is now long, strong and full of life!
Here are some of the reasons why they are #1 :
They have amazing skill! They are always caught up on the latest trends/techniques. I always feel beautiful when I walk out of their salon. Erica is a color genius!
They are professional! They always call to confirm my appointment (which I find refreshing). They have enough respect for their clients to BE ON TIME and they don't book 15 people at once and make you wait all day! They are very friendly and fun to talk to (yet focused) paying very close attention to detail.
They have respect for their clients! They always listen to what I want.... Then they actually deliver (and then some)! They work hard to make sure each client is happy.
The Salon is Clean! The shop is always cozy, organized, and clean.
There's a PRIVATE ROOM! It is extremely important to me that I have privacy... not everyone needs to know what I have going on up there! I appreciate the fact that Margaret has a room where I can feel relaxed and comfortable while she works. I can ""sneak"" into the private room with an afro under my baseball cap and then emerge like a new woman without the world seeing the process!
They do great things for the community! They donate food, clothing and other items to those in need and get their customers involved.
The friendly and welcoming environment makes me feel like more than just a client, it makes me feel like family! Who knew getting your hair done could be such a wonderful experience!
I have been going to Margaret for over 2 yrs now and I love her and the shop! EVERYONE in the shop is sooo nice and professional! I like going to this shop because Margaret is always on time and gets a full weave done in 2 and a half hours! I have never had a issue with unprofessionalism from her or ANYONE in the shop including Shawntay. Shawntay and Margaret are both very professional and I have no complaints regarding either one. Margaret has a very positive spirit and does not bad mouth anyone. The whole time that I have been going there(OVER 2 YRS) I have NEVER heard her talk about any of her clients! I love the work she does and the way she runs her salon. She does not dress unprofessional at all, but she does have a incrediable figure so I guess some people will be jealous LOL :-)

I have just recently started going to Margaret's Hair Gallery, after being reffered by one of my friends. I went in for a consultation and they were incredible. One young lady went above and beyond to help me find the hair I would need to use and when I went back to talk to a stylist named Margaret about the look i wanted she was very understanding of what i felt I wanted to accomplish with my hair. I came in a week later to have my actual appointment. I was a little scared because I had never had a weave before but after it was done it looked beautiful. After years of having a receding hairline I felt ashamed of, this lady performed a mircale on me. I am so grateful I finally found a salon that takes pride in their work and believes in truly making their clients happy. I know that I can put my trust into them. Not only that, I was able to receive 10% off on my service for bringing cans for their can food drive. It is a very good feeling to know I support a salon with a good cause as well. I reccomend this salon to anyone who needs their hair done. They do it all! I just want to thank the crew and Margaret's Hair Gallery for their dedication to my new look my family and I all love!

I have been going to this salon for over 3 years. I have been braided, relaxed, and weaved. My hair has not been this long or healthy since I was 12! Erica has been my stylist for the entire time and I love her to death! She is a very capable stylist who will only get better! I would much rather go to a salon who makes me feel comfortable and relaxed than go to some average salon that cuts hair and treats me like I just walked on off the street. Have you seen ""Good Hair""? If these women didn't know what they were doing, I could walk out bald headed with 2nd degree burns on my scalp!! Ignore the hate, walk into this salon and feel the love!

I don't know what the heck the young ""lady"" underneath is talking about, you must have gotten your hair done by the lady in the first station by the couch whom was very unprofessional which is why she's no longer at that salon. However, I get my hair done by Margaret and Erica and they make me feel right at home as if I were part of the family. Who wants to go into a salon where it's stiff in the air, no one is talking or being friendly? Come on now. You have to understand that most of the clients that have been going to Margaret and Erica have been going there for a looong time and they all know one another. The salon is very family orientated and it seems as though they want everyone to feel like they're at home and in good hands while they're there. I certainly did and I'm completely satisfied with ALL of the stylist there. It's sad that you say they're like all other ""ethnic"" salon's...u must like to go to salon's where they treat you like junk, ask you how you want your hair done and do something completely different and still ask you to pay them for their services! Try super cuts then girlfriend or let your boyfriend do the relaxer since he didn't like it!!! Oh and why were you all up in someone else's head any way...you're just trying to find something negative to say which is sad...but hey, you can't win them all. Luckily, Margaret's Hair Gallery has booming business and new clientele everyday, so unfortunate people like you have to hate!

The place is busy..my boyfriend expected me to be in and out in an hour for a relaxer. this wasn't the case. while i waited, i decided to look at other hair options that were available..there's coloring, cornrowing, weaves..There are hardly any caucasion clientele there at all.. i'm bi-racial, and like to see more diversity..i had looked this place up on the internet a few weeks before..the proprietor claiming to be the ""best hair stylist in Sacramento""..i later called around to find, there aren't very many hairstylists (ethnic) in sacramento..this must have been self proclaimed..my boyfriend wasn't happy with my haircut, nor the relaxer, and said this was our first and last..
my beautician showed up 1 hour late, which put me into someone elses time slot. We're all bunched up in the ""waiting area"" on small seats, wondering who's taking who's time slot..there is actually no ""private, relaxed"" atmosphere at all..it's open..other beauticians just walk right up to the clients while having their hair done, asking questions..
i was thinking of getting a weave, which would have been exciting..one beautiful lady was walking from the back, after having her hair done by the ""weave specialist"".. her hair looked great, except when the door opened..her hair blew back, and there was a track right there for everyone to see..she either didn't notice, or didn't care..i thought, there's no way, someone will send me out of their shop looking like this..and i paid for it too...
Plus, there was one skinny young lady who was bouncing around in the back, apparently Margaret's Daughter? going on and on about how tired she was..she was very pretty and slim..but kept interrupting the weave specialist during a client's install..
what i did notice in the area where they do the weaves, clients are packed in the back, sitting literally toe to toe with each other while Margaret does their hair..two at a time ..so much for ""private""..
