I picked up my reserved car at the Sacramento Airport Friday morning the July 18th. I was in a rush and haven't used Alamo for several years. My rate was very reasonable. At the time of reservation through my Southwest Frequent Flyer site the total for three days came to about $75. I was asked about upgrading which I refused as I had a good car that met my needs. I was then asked if I wanted the standard or upgraded insurance. I was given no explanation or heads up that there would be an additional charge. I also was not given the option to decline. I did not realize what had happened until I returned the car on Sunday the 20th and was charged over $160 at the drop off! As it turned out the check-in person made a mistake and I had to go back to the Alamo counter, wait in line, and then explained that the charge should have been only around $80. I was charged for the wrong car and apparently I didn't actually decline the damage waiver because I was not told about it. This added $45 to the bill. I'm still not sure how it was all adjusted because it was getting late for my flight. The person at the counter said he gave me a $5 credit for the trouble and still charged me $120. Needless to say, my next car rental probably wont be Alamo. UPDATE: I had an experience with Alamo that I gave an unfavorable review on. They contacted me and after getting all the info made everything right! That is a sign of a company that cares about it's customers! 5 stars for Alamo and I will use them on my next trip!
Picked up car at Sacramento Airport----unfortunately running late for a meeting and drove off lot without realizing gas tank was not full. Additionally, had challenges with the automatic transmission not shifting appropriately while driving vehicle. Fill tank upon return anyway. Mentioned both to the young lady checking in the car. She didn't seem to understand what I was talking about concerning the transmission not shifting appropriately. Not confident this issue was reported. Was not offered any concession regarding the gas issue. Unfortunately, this was the second week in a row I had an issue with renting here. The previous week, I was provided a car that was not cleaned well. It was a black SUV that had been washed but obviously left out to dry in the sun, and it had water spots all over it. I had to stop at a gas station to clean all the windows so that I could see appropriately while driving. I did mention this to the attendant checking in the car, and I did receive a $15 discount on that rental. I will say I have rented with them prior to these two incidents--and had no problems. But the gas situation was annoying.....I will probably try them once again and see what happens.
We love National!! They are always eager to please the customer and the "aisle" is the way to go! Begin by setting up a membership to the Emerald Club, and from that point on you can reserve a car, just choose any midsize car, then, when you get there, go the aisle, pick ANY car you like that is on the aisle and you will get if for the mid size rate! No matter what size it is!! Sometimes the selection is not that great, but, if you ask at the kiosk most times they will be able to get you what you want. You build up points for free airline miles or free rentals, your choice and the hassle of renting a car will not be a hassle any longer!! The people are friendlly, helpful and easy to deal with, and the cars are clean, in great condition and dependable. What more could anyone ask for??
I recently rented a car with them the first car I picked up the ac didn't work and I had to come back and exchange the car which made me late to work. The car I exchanged for wasn't even cleaned out or washed because I found the last renters trash in the back doors and the outside was dirty. They did upgrade me free of charge for having to come back. Also when I spoke to the man helping me i asked if I wanted to extend my rental would I be charged the weekend special rate or the regular rate and was told I would be charged the weekend rate for the 1st extra day and the regular price for the second. When I turned the car in that was not the case they charged me the full price for both days. So it wasn't a completely horrible experience but it wasn't a great experience either
The service was very good. They were friendly and helpful. However, I had checked the option to include navigation with the car. They didn't have any cars available. They did have a small SUV with navigation that was available. I thought they upgraded me (that was how it sounded when I was told that was the vehicle they were going to give me), but when I saw the bill I was charged for the upgraded vehicle. Although I enjoyed the vehicle I was given, I wish I had known it was going to cost that much more. My bad since I didn't compare the bill total with the quote I had from the internet for the car when I booked it originally until I was back home. I plan on using National again but this time I'll have more questions when they suggest a different vehicle.
I went to rent a car. I asked about the size and the clerk did not know the size. When I saw the car it was very call. I rented an economy and it was sub compact. I went back in and said I did not want it. I did not even turn the car on. I was charged $100 which is almost what the week long rental was supposed to cost. Now it hours on hold and call back later to get it rectified. I have never had anything like this happen in 30 years of car renting. I was able to reach customer service. Its hard to find their phone number. I was never able to reach the local agency. Customer Service claims they will correct the billing. I though the customer service agent was really professional and helpful.
Picked up my reserved car at Sacramento Airport on Monday the 29th. Although I already prepaid for the car, my daughter wanted upgrade the car & we ended up renting the car Infinity Q50 A. I was very nice car. As we drove off the lot, I turned on the air & started smell the cigarette. Apparently, the previous driver must smoke him/herself to death in the car. It was very unpleasant smell. I was also having a problem with seat belts. I am not sure what is the problem with seat belts wouldn't stay latched. I explained to the clerk upon return the car, he apologized the inconvenience. He said he will notified & will take the corrective action. Overall, we enjoyed out trip...
These guys were GREAT!!!! My sister had a very severe car accident and I just grabbed my dog and a toothbrush and ran up to Sacramento. The insurance company referred me to Enterprise. Ian picked me up at the hotel where I was staying, was SOOO compassionate and customer service oriented. When I returned the car, they waived the fee of cleaning as my dog had to be in the car on the trip home. Then a very nice gentleman took me over to Volvo to pick up my car. You are in VERY GOOD HANDS with this outfit and the personal. Ian is the BEST!
I recently had occasion to rent a car from Enterprise. We picked up the car from the airport here in Sacramento. The young man who assisted us was really pleasant. However, he did not perform any visual inspection of the car when we drove it away. Additionally, it was covered in waterspots and the rims were filthy. I was told they are using a water saving car wash; hence, the spots. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. By the way, the law firm I work for represents Enterprise, i.e., renters who have accidents.
I got this rental for a work trip. I had great service! I called and requested to have somebody pick me up, that representative set the standards! She was very friendly and talkative. You know when you don't know somebody that silent awkwardness is a killer. Not her, I almost wanted to keep riding with her! Once I got to Enterprise on 16th St. the counter staff was very nice, got me my car and sent me on my way! Very friendly, will be back (I have more business trips to take), but on a personal note I would comeback!
