I really, really wanted to like this shop, but I guess the bottom line is: they really, really didn't like me. The sad part is, I have no idea why. I dropped by after lunch one day before returning to work to check out their fabric selection. I had an elderly friend (male) with me who graciously entered the store with me while I rambled a minute. Being completely out of his element, he elected to stay near the front door, happy to be in the air conditioning. The staff literally froze like deer in the headlights when we entered....no smiles, no friendly greetings. One woman asked what I needed, but didn't seem to like my answer that I had not been in before and wanted to see what kind of fabrics they had. That was the end of any conversation. One employee seemed to be helping another customer with a machine near the front of the door, but I noticed she spent most of her time staring at my friend. The other staff retreated to a back corner and kept a watchful eye on me. I suppose they thought I might try to stuff a sewing machine in my pants pocket. When we left, which was very soon thereafter, I said goodbye and thank you, but, big surprise, no one said a word. It WAS casual Friday, but I think we still looked respectable enough for a couple of medical staffers. Go figure.
