We stayed in Ruidoso Jan 13-15th 2017 in the Black Bear cabin. It's a huge cabin that is absolutely gorgeous and very clean! I called to make our reservations and the person that answered was very nice and patient with all of my questions and seemed genuinely concerned for our well being since there was a winter storm warning in effect for the area on Saturday and Sunday. The cabin was very big and very clean. It fit us perfect and had a full kitchen. The heater didn't come on when we first arrived but someone came and turned on the pilot for us right away. We saw snow on Sunday morning of our trip and it was amazing! Since our children have never seen snow before it was perfect because it melted by mid afternoon so we drove back without having to drive in ice or snow. They do say to take precautions when there may be snow on the roads. In the early morning while it was snowing we saw a car going a little too fast and they skidded for a sec before regaining control. This cabin has 3 bedrooms, two bathrooms, and 2 loft areas that have 2 full size beds in each, a full kitchen and two dining tables to eat at. Only one tv in the living room with a huge fire place! Don't forget to buy wood if you do they sell wood in the office. We plan on returning next year or as soon as we can. Such a great cabin!

We waited until last few weeks before Labor Day to look for a place that could accommodate 6 people plus 2 dogs and 2 cats. Luckily, Glenda with Noisy Waters contacted me about the Bears Den cabin they still had available! We took it! Wow..wow...wow!! Thats all we can say. We have been visiting Ruidos for years and never ventured into the Upper Canyon..all I can say is we have missed out! This ENTIRE area is what vacation is all about! The cabin was situated up high and surrounded by trees with a view from the deck that was gorgeous! It was sooo peaceful and quiet. All you could hear was the wind in the tall pine trees, the light rain falling in the forest, birds chirping and the rolling of the river over rocks down below! The cabin was super clean! I did bring my own coffee and food along with an electric skillet to cook breakfast in. The morning view outside the kitchen on the deck is amazing! We have found THE ONLY place we will ever stay when we come back. The only thing I wished was different was the pots and pans available to cook with. But I do cook a lot..even on vacation so I know now to bring extras. Other than that. .this place is paradise and I wish we never had to leave!
We decided to stay at Noisy Water Lodge (Canyon Retreat) after looking around for a nice cabin online for quite a while. When I called in to make the reservation, the man was very nice and answered all the questions I had. Upon arriving, both Mr. and Mrs. Duncan were very nice to us and made us feel very welcome. We really didn't have to contact them much during the week, as we didn't have any problems with the cabin. It was clean and very comfortable. We felt as if we were in our very own home away from home. I would like to mention that this is a two story cabin, with a beautiful stairway, but it can be a bit tiring, hahaha, although my 65 year old mother did just fine....other than that, this place was wonderful! If what you are looking for is a place out in the pines with wildlife and beautiful scenery, this is the place!!!! This place even had games and movies and well, we just didn't want to leave. Thanks Noisy Water....once again....I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!
My husband and I stayed in Sky Cabin for a three day weekend. This is a lovely two story cabin. While there are other cabins around, we had total privacy. There are decks on two stories, with great views across the canyon. The decorator could not decide if this was a cowboy cabin, (rope baseboards, cowboy print sofa), ski lodge ( crossed antique ski poles over the door) or a country cabin ( chintz and calico) but the whole thing works. An inside gas fireplace was not needed in June, but looked like it would be cozy. There is also an outdoor fireplace and a gas grill. The outdoor hot tub for two is screened off for total privacy. The key opens the back door, off the kitchen. We thought a card table upstairs might be a good addition. There are lots of stairs, and we noted a lack of handrails. Bring backpacks and reusable grocery bags to carry your clothes and supplies. Binoculars would also be great, we saw a bear, many deer and an elk.
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and were taken aback by how much larger and nicer it was than the pictures made it seem on the website! This place is gorgeous! It has a huge, spacious patio, a propane bbq pit, greatly stocked kitchen(lots of pots and pans, muffin and bread pans, skillets, two coffee makers, dishwasher), bathroom amenities (i.e LOTS of towels, tp, soap) and a nice jacuzzi style tub upstairs. The view is amazing, and there were plenty of birds and deer that hung out around the place. It's tucked away in the upper canyon, and just across the way of the Rio Ruidoso. There was hi-speed internet (No Wi-fi), a nice HD flat screen tv, a cute fireplace, lots of fans available (no AC, but, who needs that in Ruidoso?!) The beds are comfy, the pillows quite firm.. the living area was nice and open, big huge windows overlooking your huge porch area.. this place was such a treat!
We were staying for 3 nights last December but it was so nice our trip this December are booked to go back to Noisy Water Lodge's cabin Bear Dean, this very wide around the first floor, the living room with couch to sleep comfortably and needless to say the kitchen also very spacious, three bedrooms are not huge but have enough to feel cozy and comfortable space heating not sensational -8 degrees that were felt outside. It has a large porch that I was not used by the cold and gas grill propane that without hesitation if you use, there is also Wi fi and small hills that children can slide and play in the snow, watch the deer as of Nearby is a unique experience and last but not least Glenda tremendous attention from the reservation.

I had the pleasure of staying at Noisywater Lodge this fall . The rustic setting ,delightful cabin and friendly atmosphere made for a wonderful getaway from the rat race . Noisywater Lodge is nestled in the upper canyon of Ruidosa and John and Glenda Duncan have done a marvelous job of maintaining this little gem . The area around Ruidosa has alot to offer in unique scenery and history of the 1800's . We had a very pleasant 4 nights ,the cabin was clean ,the kitchen and service second to none . I would definitly recommend Noisywater Lodge to anyone looking for a relaxing stay in Ruidosa and I will be back.
My husband and I have stayed at Noisy Water on a few different occasions. The owners are very nice and helpful and the cabins are very welcoming and cozy. A couple of weeks ago, we stayed in Rustic Pines and loved it. The cabin had a nice open floorplan and was rather large for the price we spent. We have also stayed in Sky Cabin twice. You can't get any better than Sky. The location is great, the views are amazing and the cabin is beautiful inside & out. We will absolutely be back to Noisy Water.
Noisy Water Lodge staff was great and everything about the cabin met expectations. Great views, Huge cabin, hot tub, very clean, all the ammenities you need. We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights for a ski trip recently, the cabin is not too far from the main strip of Ruidoso so just a 5 minute trip into town. Cabin comes with cable tv and WIFI so you dont miss a beat. Huge front patio that overlooks the mountain with the hot tub on one end provides for a relaxing atmosphere in the evening.
