My child attended this preschool many years ago and I still remember what a disappointing experience we had. The director of the school is unprofessional and the main concern is money. My child was injured on several occasions at the school and no one knew why or how the incidents occurred. There was a small ceremony at the school for the preschool kids that were graduating and going on to Kindergarten. Most of the children were recognized and given awards and then there were a couple of children that were left out and not given any type of award certificate. I will never forget the sadness left on my child's face because he was left out. My child attended the school from 2-4 years and it was a very disappointing experience all the way around especially the last year being that there were several different teachers that came and left the school. This school has been open for over 15 years and there are very few positive reviews that can be found anywhere. If you want your child to attend a quality stable preschool, then please go elsewhere.

Overall
very poor school

Unbelievable episode at Hands on Learning - jamericana - 2007-10-15
I have had the most horrific experience with that school. August 31 I checked in after my appointment to see how he was doing (mind you this is his first time in school) and I went to the back where 4 women were sitting down chatting listening to music (they were outside having frosties) and I asked where he was, I called out for him 3 times, no answer from him and no one knew where he was, I went around the side and that's where I found him, it appears he wondered off to go to the bathroom so I personally took him in to the bathroom, but low and behold I found another little boy unattended in the bathroom alone. I told them about this and they apologized, I wished I would have moved him that day but I gave them another chance, and every week it was something else he busted his lip on the swings, he came home with 2 black and blue marks on his head, he told me someone put their bugger tissue on him and he opened his hand and covered his face to show me how, he told me he was hit, and spit on and when I spoke with the owner about these things she said that it was his job to tell us when these things happen (he just turned 4 keep that in mind). I said to her that your school needs to do a better job watching him, and after that I told her I was finally going to leave the school, her attitiude went from caring to money grubbing. After I told her we would be leaving the school, she ended our call by asking "well is everything paid up?" I said it sure is (I pay every week in advance), I thought that was very inappropriate, that's a question she could have checked her ledger and received an answer for. Today my husband went to retrieve our sons school supplies ( a very expensive list at that, we bought everything on the list and more) I called the director ahead of time to tell her to have his things ready she agreed, however when he got there the owner said they had been all used up, all they were trying to give back was a little pencil box a couple pencils and crayons after I'd spent over 70$ on the best of the best (bounty paper towels 4 rolls, paints, glitter, 4 boxes of latex gloves, boxes of huggies wipes, hand sanitizer the list goes on and on) he has only been there 2 months and that's all they wanted to give us, the end result was the call of the police to help get back our things we got back some things thanks to the police (not our things either they just threw some things together and gave us. I can not beleive what we have gone through with this place. I believe If you love your child send them elsewhere. The owner of this pre-school in my opinion was after money not the well being of my child.

Came for a quick tour the other day, out of so many wonderful things they claim to have was the healthy habits and healthy food they provide for the children and they said parents were encourage to pack healthy food!!!! YEAH RIGHT!! They have 2 ugly and old vending machines full of JUNK FOOD AND SODAS for kids to buy specially after care program, ( this was told by an unhappy parents) who says that is how OWNER makes EXTRA MONEY!!! and Director does not care about this situation at all.
SHAME ON THIS SCHOOL!!!!!!

Overall
very caring

I just read the other review and I am sorry she had that experience. But my experiences with this school have been great. My son has been there since he was two years old. In fact the owner helped me find child care when he wasn't old enough to join. His two year old teachers were very caring. He would run up to them and give them big hugs everyday. He has made good friends with the other children, he talks about them everyday. All the children are extremely loving to eachother and my son. He is now with the 3 year olds and is learning new things everyday. The teachers and directors have been nothing short of fabulous and I would reccommend them to everybody. It is also a bonus that the teachers are bi-lingual. My child is getting the opportunity to learn spanish as well as learning reg. preschool program. I don't believe anybody should base their opinion on one circumstance within the school but take advice from somebody who has been with the school for over a year. I give them an A+.
