I urgently needed 6 patches sewn on to my son's cubscout uniform. The first 3 closest places to my house didn't even answer the phone. The 4th place, which was a drycleaner that supposedly also did alterations, informed me in a not-so-friendly manner that they don't do that.
I finally called Eddie's and their customer service was great. I brought the shirt in, and because he has done many uniform patches, he knew exactly where every patch should go. He got it done that day and everything looked perfectly straight and you couldn't even see the stitching. He charged $7 which I thought was very reasonable since it would have taken me a lot of time to sew it all by hand.
I was very happy with Eddie's and will not hesitate to go there in the future.

I have been going to Eddie for alterations for the last 13 years. I was referred to Eddie by a friend of mine. He has altered all of my homecoming and prom dresses, some of them being all beading and sequins. When I got married last year, I refused to take my dress to anyone else. My dress was way too big on me and needed a lot of alterations. Because of the way my dress was made and the beading on it, they had to take my entire dress apart and ""rebuild"" it. As nervous as I was that they had to do this, I knew if anyone could do it, Eddie and his wife could. Although the price was expensive, it was well worth the money. My dress was absolutely gorgeous. I will forever be a fan of Eddie's alterations and as long as he is around I will continue to go to him. I recommend that others do as well.
I went to this tailor because he had been around for a long time. However, I had him shorten a dress for me and had to go back and have him fix it the same day I picked it up because it was crooked. He was very good about fixing it right away. Because of this, I recently brought back 2 unlined, simple dresses and a pair of jeans to have hemmed. I did not look at what he was charging me until after I left, but when I did the price seemed rediculously high. I then called around to 6 other alterations stores and all had prices that were no where near as much. I ended up picking up my clothes and taking them to another store and am paying half the amount he was going to charge me at a great tailor that has also been in business for a very long time. It is unfortunate because he is closer to where I live, however I can not with a good conscious go back there.

The prices at Eddies are OUTRAGEOUS. It is way over priced. The items I took in to be hemmed where going to cost me about 50% of the purchse price. To make things worse, they couldn't give me a quote for the dress I took in, but said they would call the next day. They NEVER called, so I did. The price was so ridicidulus and unconscionable I went back and took my items to my tailor in Birminham who did it in half the time for literally half the price. I am concerned that they were just going to hem my dress without telling me the price and charge me for it, had I not called them.

I've been going to Eddie's Alterations for years. Oftentimes I bring items in, expecting to drop them off, and he says ""wait"", and fixes them right on the spot. He's fair, reasonably priced, and extremely fast!
He's been rated the best tailor in the area for several years in a row, and for good reason. I'd highly recommend this business, and I have to all of my family and friends.

I came in with a broken zipper and was told it couldn't be fixed. Eddie told me both the zipper and the lining needed to be replaced for $28. I took it to MJ Cleaners and they fixed the zipper within 5 minutes - no charge. Makes you wonder how honest Eddie really is. . .
