I'm just coming home from the restaurant and am very disappointed. After waiting for approximately 45 minuets for our food to arrive I was eating my meal and after about 4 bites something stabbed me in my gum i pulled it out of my mouth and it was half of a toothpick. I asked my waitress to speak to a manager. He came over and I told him the tooth pick was in my food and he proceeded to tell me that they use them to hold the food together when cooking it. I told him that I lost my appetite and I no longer wanted the food and didn't want to pay for it either he left and came back to the table and told me that I ate half of my meal that I had to pay for half of it. I was very disappointed how he handled the situation and I will never go back there again.
Food service was extremely slow. The salsa had no flavor. The chicken was burned and poorly seasoned (wierd taste). We had the manager get involv…

sometimes you have to wait, but the food is worth it. I have always had good service, polite and friendly. I also think they have the best salsa in town !!!!
This place sucks I will never come back. We waited over 27 minutes for our food.
We stopped in for a quick dinner. We waited for two minutes at the host stand with no greeting. A women approached us, grabbed two menus and walked to a table, without saying a word. We used our common sense to follow. She lead us to a dirty table saying she needed to wipe it down. She did so, and the entire time was slamming the dirty cups and other misc. items on the other dirty table behind her. We sat there reviewing the menu for, a minimum of 10 minutes, when we started to keep track of the time, with still no acknowledgement of us being present in the restaurant. Five minutes later the same woman approached with chips and salsa, again without a word. We were hesitant to indulge in the chips without drinks, but another three minutes passed, so we gave in. Then a woman approached asking what we wanted to drink, we answered, and then asked if we needed a minute to order, to which we said yes please (mostly anxious to get our drink, two simple cokes). She then proceeded to clean three tabels without even hesitating to get our drinks. This, 20 mins later, is when we decided to leave. We gave another local restaurant our business and will never return to this place where customers are so highly disregarded and cleaning tabels or scooping ice is instead the priority.
This was our second time at 526 Main. It is a bar with dueling pianos and there were 6 in our party that came with the intention of staying until closing. Patrons beware: If there is a line waiting to get in they will take every opportunity to get you out including lying, bouncers and the Royal Oak PD. My nephews wife stepped out to put change in the parking meter, had her hand stamped for re-entry, but wasn't allowed back in by a bouncer who told her they were at capacity. Her purse was inside in her seat but they still would not let her back in. She touched the hostess on the arm to get her attention. The hostess then proceed to accuse her of being violent. Once we saw what was going on our entire party went over to the waiting area and tried to explain that we had been there all evening. We were promptly escorted out by the bouncers without our tab. One of the bouncers followed my nephew and his wife to their car and would not let them leave. I called the cops who of course told us we had to pay the tab so I went with the cops back to speak to the hostess who then proceeded to tell them that I had become beligerent and aggressive (an outright lie - I only spoke to the bouncers and was never beligerent). I asked her to see the security tape of the incident and she said she couldn't do that. I explained to the cop what was happening and all he could say was the law was on their side about the tab. I explained that none of us were trying to stiff them for the bill but we were unfairly asked to leave. He said he gets called here all the time for similar stories and that I would have to subpeona for the security tape. Sadly, this is a great place for fun and the waitstaff was terrific both times we were there. But I'm not at all pleased about the way we were treated by the rest of the staff. Anyone patronizing 526 Main should be forewarned that if they want you out so they can get some fresh money in they have absolutely no scruples. By the way, we spent between $200 and $300 while we were there so it's really not like we were drinking water all night. I feel bad for our watiress since she got stuck in the middle of it all and lost out on a nice tip.
