Another REVISION: This morning, I had a 7am appointment at the 7403 O’Connor Drive in Austin Texas location. On my way back to dental chair, the assistant ask me if my hair was real! REALLY?!!!! The assistant removed the incorrect temporary crown. Perhaps, if she’d concentrated on my patient’s chart & not my hair & eyelashes. She wouldn’t have removed the incorrect temporary crown! I saw another new dentist this AM; she was only concerned with discussing her personal issues with the assistance. As they continue to work to fit my permanent crown; they continued to talk about their personal GPS issues...and questioning me if my hair and Eyelashes were real. The dentist nor the assistant never once want to walk me through the process while putting in my crown! Most importantly, this dentist used a very lazy technique by drilling my porcelain crown on the top were it’s visible & very rough feeling. Another example poor customer satisfaction/service.They never once stop to address me as I was in visible pain, however, they continued on with their personal conversation. Also, during my two x-rays; the assistant took my right hand to hold their broken arm of the x-ray machine while the assistant continued her personal conversation with the Dentist about being too fat for her scrubs. In the meantime I’m still holding the broken arm of the x-ray machine with the uncomfortable piece in my mouth. Castle Dental is a joke!!! They take your money and can care less about the unfinished work; for example when you return to get your permanent crown. To add, I’m still having sensitivity in the various other teeth. Not to mention, at checking in their manager, and other dental assistant were very rude; they displayed negative body language; Eye rolling and all! Good luck; when you’re trying to get in touch with this location. It has taken me two months since my root canal to get my permanent crowns. The only nice thing about this location is the front desk reception.
Been coming here 15 years. I can't say enough about how awesome they have been. Would highly recommend. These guys have been great!
Absolutely horrible - STAY AWAY from these people. I had switched to this dentist as my dental insurance changed and the dentist I had been going to didn't accept it. When I went to this dentist they gave me a nice LONG list of everything that was "wrong". It was a ton of $$ they wanted me to spend. Silly me, I believed them but I also wondered why my other dentist had never mentioned anything as I go every 6 months. So I had a few things done in April. Then I switched dentists again as I just felt something was off with them. Well long and behold the new dentist confirmed there was NOTHING wrong with my teeth and he had no idea why this place made such a long list of things to fix. So this place fabricated a list of items to fix to get $$. On top of it, I had paid a few thousand dollars back in April for the things I did get done. Then out of the blue SEVEN months later (it is now November), I get a bill from them. I was like WHAT??? I called and they gave me a list of excuses (i.e. software problems, staff was out, etc.) and explained to me that they were giving me an interest free loan for 7 months and I should be grateful. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Of course there is nothing I can do about this and I have to pay it immediately otherwise they will ding my credit even though they took SEVEN months to bill me some mysterious left over balance. Stay away - they will fabricate things to work on that you of course can't argue with unless if you get a second opinion (which then will probably not be covered by dental insurance as you only get two check ups a year covered) and then they will be gracious enough to let you think you paid off your balance and then bill you much much later and let you know you should be grateful.
My daughters absolutely LOVED Dr Hooty and the staff. Now my little one wants to be Dentist when she grows up. :) We will definitely be life long patients!
The office is nice and very clean. Office staff was helpful and personable. However, Dr. Kaplan has no bedside manner! I would never recommend him to anyone.
From a dental standpoint, the place isn't bad. I liked the other workers they had at the front desk and in the back, but it's still decent. As for billing, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Before every procedure, they ask that you pay the amount up front. I had a plan of several things to do, so I received a potential bill for each service and just paid that amount when I would show up for the service. HOWEVER, when I would go in for services there would be changes. In other words, they would do something that was cheaper than what they had quoted me...sounds good right? So 2 months after my final appointment, I started looking over the bills and notice that I was overpaying for when they were actually doing. So, I notified them March 2016, they responded June 2017 when I showed up in the office, and I am still waiting on my money. As a matter of fact, they never responded to a voicemail or email or direct phone call. They only did something when I physically showed up to the office when they blamed it on their new billing software. Again, the Dr. Shelby is a good dude but that's about it for the people in that building. Stay Away!!!!
SINCE IO'VE BEEN GOING TO HAVE MY PROCEDURES THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY AND WITH HONESTY IS THAT EVERYBODY THERE IS NICE CONCER AND AFTER MY PROCEDURES I CAN'T COMPLAIN I FEEL LIKE A NEW PERSON AND FEEL LIKE TAKING ON THE WORLD WHICH I KNOW IT'S A NO-NO CAUSE I DO HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF MYSELF, I AM VERY HAPPY WITH DR. MARK MALONE AND HIS STAFF I CAN'T COMPLAIN, I HAVE REFFERD MY DAUGHTER I JUST HOPE THEY ACCEPT HER INSURANCE ....
Does no one treat their patients like people instead of numbers anymore? Why wouldn't they inform anyone that the previous GP retired, before taking over the practice? How did they manage to communicate with each other about every individual, without contacting them and giving them proper notice that there was about to be such a big change? With that in mind, the receptionist, Jenny was very unprofessional and standoffish with my wife, like she just wanted to get rid of her without listening to her problem and then taking the appropriate course of action. Then, David was only willing to hear out the one side (i.e his employee's), without gathering all of the facts, and considering his patient's condition before having an informed and empathetic discussion. Not only was he rude, but he basically wrote off my wife's concerns, claiming that SHE was the aggressor with Jenny, and not the other way around. Finally, he basically told her that he wasn't going to treat her, and to look for another doctor. Again, very unprofessional, on all levels, especially for the extremely small amount of interaction we had with these people. Good luck staying in business!
This review is about the billing office not the doctors. Stay away from this facility if you want correct information and proper processing of insurance claims. Procedures were delayed because of misinformation and out and out lies as to the reason for the delays. The insurance company approved procedures but the office said they did not. I could go on and on. Beware.
