At the end of 2015 new owners took charge. They are rude, money hungry, and have no care whatsoever for your children. Currently not licensed/state funded. My son caught hands, foot, and mouth disease. They DID NOT report the case of hands foot and mouth to the other parents. They noticed that he had been irritable that whole day. However failed to recognize the symptoms and obvious blisters on his hands feet mouth and diaper area. The owner is rude to the employees and parents. The turnover rate is ridiculous. Randomly they close the school for no reason. They spend time at the front desk gossiping instead of teaching. The children literally play all day. The directors' words to me when I was concerned with my childs learning habits was "It is not important that your son learns right now because he is going to relearn everything when he starts pre-school." Check Bright from the start for yourself. The state visits quite often.

When I first started looking for a place to bring my son, I visited dozens of places. SSA was the 2nd one I took visited. No matter which center I visited, nothing compared to SSA. I have not second guessed for a second that this is the place where we belong. As a single Mom, it was extremely important for me to find a place I could trust. This is that place. The owners not only have tons of experience, they are also SO engaged in every aspect of their daycare. They handle things professionally but also add such a personal touch to everything they do. All of the staff comes personally recommended and are amazing. SSA made the transition from maternity leave to daycare so smooth. They also do a lot of fun stuff like holiday events, fundraisers, book fairs, sports, dance class, professional photos; the list goes on. SSA stands out from the monotonous crowd. You will not regret the decision to become part of the SSA family.
My poor feedback is as to the management. A month ago, I toured SSA and was very impressed with the facility and with the male owner who gave me the tour. I was excited to be able to put my baby-to-be on the waiting list, and the owner told me that the wait was running to Aug-Sept 2016, which was exactly when I needed childcare to begin, so my search for childcare ended. He told me to follow up periodically, so this morning I called to touch base and see if they could nail down whether my baby could begin in August or September. I spoke with the other owner (it's a husband and wife team) and she told me it would be 2 years until my baby could begin. I expressed how frustrating that news is - it is very hard to get in to a daycare in a timely manner in Roswell, and seeing as I thought I had found a place I stopped searching a month ago and now I will have an ever more difficult time. My husband and I work full time and my maternity leave is only 3 months unpaid, so finding childcare to begin in August or September is make or break for our family.Worse than their mishandling of the waiting list, when I expressed my frustration at having been misled about the waiting list and losing that time to find alternate childcare, the owner just hung up on me mid-sentence. Mind you, I did not use profanity, I did not call names. I was frustrated bit civil. Perhaps this was a blessing in disguise - I'm not sure I want my baby in the care of people who have such disregard and ambivalence toward what is important to the families they are supposed to serve. My children - and the children of anyone I speak with in the Roswell area - will go elsewhere.
I am way overdue in writing this review. We have been with Stepping Stones since they opened and have so many wonderful things to say about them. I love that this daycare is not a franchise and that the owners are so involved. They are so passionate about learning and making it a great environment for kids. It's not just a center for childcare, it is a true educational environment/school from the earliest of ages. I have a 3 year old and a 1 1/2 year old and they both love it here. The teachers are friendly and fun and you can tell they enjoy being with children. I believe all the lead teachers have a degree in early childhood education which I think is great. They follow a curriculum and provide parents with assessments on how their children are doing. I've been impressed with what my kids have learned at such a young age. The facility is also really nice. It's clean, colorful and bright, and they have a lot of fun toys/technology/learning devices etc. The building is very secure and the location is great. I love getting pictures and videos of my kids throughout the day and having their daily report emailed to me. The owners know all the kids and families by name and the turnover among staff is low. I could go on and on about how happy I've been with SSA. Elissa and Jessica have really made this a special place.
I love the owner of this Daycare. My child has been with her since 2 months. She really loves the kids and I am very satisfied with my childs educational progress.
As the Director of Discovery Point i feel the need to correct my centers reputation. I would never allow my staff to be disrespectful to any parent. Every center has a daily sheet that tells about your child's day as well as always receiving feed back from the teacher. There will also be times that you drop off and pick up in the same spot but every child is rotated every 15 minutes to different equipment as well as free play on the floor equipment with friends. This parent wanted us to do things that are against state regulations ex. place child in crib with blanket and bottle. At no time will I ever allow my staff to go against a Bright from the Start regulation as that's where the statement about living to your standards aroused from. If you find a center that is willing to go against a state rule then you might want to reconsider sending your child there. My teacher's remained professional during this whole ordeal. Discovery Point wishes this parent the best on her journey and are apologetic on any bad feelings she as with us.
I wouldn't trust this center to watch the fleas on my non-existent dog. The teachers are horrible and the directors allow them to be. They do not communicate with parents about what their child does throughout the day. They believe that giving a list of changed diapers and feedings are enough communication and that comes via a piece of paper. During our first week there, I picked up my child and his face and hands were different with food from a feeding an hour prior to me getting there. When we dropped off on two days that out my child in a swing and when I came to pick him up he was in that very same swing. When I made a complaint to the directors, the teachers then began to ignore me all together. I could walk in the room, gather my child's belongings, and leave without one word being spoken to me. Needless to say the we no longer attend that center. . . barely lasted the two weeks that we were there and am still working to get our child back to his normal behavior. And the best part about it is, when I gave notice they told me that they hope “I find someone that lives up to my standards.” Get real! This place is a joke and if you value your child you would not place them in this center at all! Run away please!
This place is horrible. It is very loud because there are no enclosed rooms. The staff is abusive and they are always yelling. I saw kids being dragged by their arms, and one kid being thrown. A child complained that the manager hurt him by holding him down. One day, everyone forgot their keys and the kids were kept in the teacher's cars. The kids were not given breakfast and they could not use the restroom.Do not leave your child here.
It's obvious that the first priority and passion of the team members at SSA is the education and loving care of the kids. My daughter is happy here. She's learning and I know she is well cared for and genuinely loved by all. They offer so many great extras--- Spanish class, I-Pad computer time, dance, music, art. karate, gymnastics, etc and at GREAT prices compared to other area schools that offer so much less. I'm so happy we chose SSA!!
This was my sons first care center and it took him about 3 weeks to get adjusted but the staff was extremely caring and.understanding. Now he comes home singing songs and knows the entire alphabet song. Thank you to all the loving teachers to the management team
