I grew up in Roseville in the 1950's and 60's...In those days we had a couple of variety stores in town, also known as "five and dime" stores, with a large variety of items at significant discounts...Unlike dollar stores, they had things of different price ranges at discount rates...I haven't seen a true variety store in many years. By the mid 70's, they had faded away, with the K-Mart age. Let me tell you, they are BACK, and they call themselves WISE BUYS! Like those old "Dime Stores", (Rosco's in Roseville) the employees are friendly and helpful...You'll not find a better lot than these! What a breath of fresh air! I love the great deals and the friendly staff...You'd think that every employee owned the place...They are so cheerful and friendly! They have a new store at Greenback & Sunrise. Check it out and see if you don't agree! WISE BUYS YEH!!!
We purchased our appliances refrigerator, stove, vent, and dishwasher. The staff was friendly without being overly aggressive. We told them what our budget was and they showed us the various products in that range. In addition we receive points which we later used to buy the kids bikes which we liked. The delivery was prompt and we like that when I have neede repairs they have all my information no need to read out my model numbers they prompt order parts and repair it.
I can always depend on Macy's to find the perfect outfit or the perfect gift. I also appreciate their annual "Thanks for Sharing" program for charity. I recently stopped by to exchange a gift that was the wrong size. They did not have the items in stock, but the clerk checked the inventory on the computer and ordered the blouse for me. They were shipped to my home at no additional cost.
Pretty solid location. Went there recently and they had the "biggest" selection of maternity clothes i have found at a Kohls. Most of the time i go to a Kohls and see 1 or 2 racks if any of maternity clothes. This location had a great selection of discounted and new maternity stuff and when you are pregnant and feeling fat but hate spending money on temporary clothes that stuff matters!
I always make an annual trek to the tool department every time I need a gift for my husband. Since I have been buying tools for him for many years, he had most common tools. I always ask the staff about what products are new. Knowing what is new really helps me pick out something perfect for my husband. We also have several Kenmore appliances which have always performed well.
JCPenney has returned to a go-to store. They have a great selection of women's and men's clothes. Lots of styles and great prices. They seem a bit limited in their boys clothing, but can still find a some great deals. They also have a nice selection of jewelry, and other accessories. They are a great place to find swimming suits during the spring and summer.
I love Nordstroms! The service and quality of products they carry supersedes almost all other big stores. However, I went to buy shoes (first walking shoes) for my baby girl, and I was not overjoyed with the options. They had 2 choices for me, and both were not appropriate for the season. Then again, it was still the best service and the best selection I found.
I went into Macy's the other day and thought I was in Nordstrom. I actually had someone help me with selection, check on me in dressing room, bring me more product and ring me up. It was crowded to for huge one day sale. I was shocked and pleasantly surprised. Now they need to work on selection of premium denim!
I love the INC brand. They always bring in the newest styles every month. You can find the clearance items too for really good prices. The bathrooms are next to an elevators and greeting cards. The customer service here is rally good, and managers assistance is rally fast too. Great atmosphere when you shop!
I love the selection of brands available at Nordstrom's. I also appreciate the level of service available from staff members. Their prices are far from cheap because of the quality of their merchandise, so when I shop at Nordstrom's, I always remind myself "you get what you pay for."
