Avalon at Decoverly Apartments

My family and I have lived in at least 6 different apartment complexes around the country in the past 10 years and I can honestly say, while the community itself is nice (for Maryland, anyway) this is the most disappointing treatment we've ever received as tenants by Corporate/management.

At first we were relatively satisfied with the community and apartments themselves, but around the most recent Christmas holiday we received a notice from the management office saying they planned to do a week-long MANDATORY renovation of our unit while we were still living in it. This involves the gutting of the leaky, 20-year-old plumbing system (which they didn’t have the foresight to replace BEFORE we moved in) in all three of our bathrooms, the ripping out of all the flooring in the kitchen and aforementioned bathrooms, replacement of various appliances and other odd-jobs. The work is to take place for SEVEN consecutive days from 8 AM to 5:30 PM. They are not relocating us or compensating us for this (at least not until we went to the office and had a very long conversation with one of the managers), nor was any of this stuff mentioned in the Lease Agreement (we wouldn’t have moved in if we knew). They have a history of being awful at doing maintenance work, it takes days and repeated visits to get anything fixed and we’ve had to call the superiors of the maintenance workers because they simply refused to finish the job in a timely manner. We've also had the rear bumper of one of our cars busted while it properly parked in front of our house, which goes to tell you how careful the residents are. Management here is wholly GODAWFUL, they don't care about their residents, nor the inconveniences they pose on them, they just BS you to calm you down but that’s it.

The community is beautiful, but even that is ruined now that the Crown Farm and Field are plowed and turned over, they plan to build a bunch of houses and stores there and ruin the privacy this place could once boast about.
