I have been using Charles Automotive for some time now. They are my business of choice to help maintain my vehicles. Brought in my 2010, MB GL450 because it was throwing the infamous Airmatic Malfunction warning. After parking the vehicle for approximately a week to observe possible leaking of the airbags, I didn't notice any lowering of suspension height. My MB Carsoft II indicated that the suspension air compressor was basically taking too long to fill up - time for the experts. The expert techs at Charles found a faulty P0022 code that was responsible for my error readings. They corrected the error and didn't even charge me. These guys understand that building a sustainable relationship with a customer has far more value than a quick buck. Charles Automotive is a diamond in ruff. I am glad that I found them.
It was simply one of the best experiences I had with any car repair shop. These guys are true professionals that don't lie or misrepresent anything and tell you and even show you things the way they are. I have taken more than one car to them and have received excellent service and have paid a lot less than any other auto shop around.
They installed a tire incorrectly on the front right side of my car and the tire was ruined within several weeks of installation. When I called to request a replacement tire, the manager argued with me and claimed that the best she could do was give me $25 off on a new tire. They can't even install tires correctly!
I had a great experience here. Everyone who helped me were so friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back.
I had a stripped oil plug and these guys were amazing. They went over all my options and explained everything to me. And the cost was really really cheap. They were out going and very friendly too. I will never goto another mechanic. I am their customer for life
I tell all of my friends how wonderful this shop is! The crew at Volvo Specialists has been taking care of my 4 Volvo's and my Chevrolet pickup for years now. They are always, courteous, timely, fairly priced and best of all they fix my cars right the first time. Again, I tell EVERYONE to go see them, you will not find this kind of dedication in the DMV.
I would give zero stars if I could. Do these guys actually do anything all day but look at their cellphones? Made an appointment in advance for an alignment at noon and was told to pick up the car at approximately 130-200pm. Watched from my office across the street as the car went untouched for two hours. Walked back over, asked if the car was ready or would be ready soon, sat down in a chair as the gentleman at the desk went in to the shop and spoke to a few of the employees. I sat in the chair watching this manager walk about, fill out paperwork, come back into the waiting room, and help other customers for fifteen minutes before I stopped him to ask if the alignment was done. Judging by the conversation and gesticulation towards the shop employees that followed, the manager was powerless to motivate the workers. The manager returned to the waiting room to tell me the car was next up for an alignment. Not one to make a scene, I requested my keys, took my car, and returned to work. The one star goes to the manager for speaking to the workers and being honest about whether or not my car was ready.
The owner of Thunderbird Automotive, Fred, is nothing more than a greedy crook who is only interested in taking your money and not providing services. I took my Bimmer to this shop because sometimes when the weather is cold, the iDrive displays a message that my left front tire is low. BMW of Rockville always resets the TPM for free but this time I decided to go see Fred instead; Fred ran a test and saw no problems but he said I should come back the next day for further testing. When I arrived the next day, Fred almost immediately claimed one sensor needed to be replaced and it will cost $245.00. THIS WAS A BIG RED FLAG!! I called my (male) cousin because I knew I was being ripped off. My cousin told me to ask Fred for the old sensor and the box for the new one. Five minutes later, Fred told me my car was ready; he handed me my keys and asked for a payment with no intention of writing a work order so I told him I needed one. After he wrote it up for $245.00 I asked for the old sensor and the new box but he could produce neither. Fred then took my keys back claiming my car was (suddenly) not ready and that the new sensor had also suddenly gone bad. At this point he was laughable! After 45 minutes, Fred asked me to call my cousin again so he could explain how he fixed my car. He rambled on and on to my cousin about how he used new sensor rings in conjunction with my old sensor. My cousin then told him I was not going to pay $245.00 for that and Fred revised the invoice to $40.00. Haha...this crook! After my cousin got off the phone, Fred became defensive - he aggressively and furiously harped on about how he doesn't need to cheat anyone because he's a busy man and that he was actually doing me a favor. I looked at him like whatever...you tried something crooked and you got caught. This week, as soon as the temperature dropped the message on my iDrive came on again - this is a clear indication that Fred provided no service to my car; he only reset the TPM and tried to charge me $245.00 for it. Stay away from this shop and its crooked owner.
