Hoffman House Restaurant

I've had dinner here a couple of times. I LOVE their salad bar. So many choices and soup. Little pricey but worth it. I've always had great waitress'. Good service in the sports bar. Other review must be outdated.

Tonite we had dinner at Hoffman house. Since moving to Rockford 35 years ago it has always been a favorite of ours . Friday fish fries , prime rib and soup and salad bar. And a place we like to bring out of town guests for a relaxing meal. Eating there tonite was so disappointing. We had a table by a new appetizer cooking bar .it was small table set very close to it. The smoke from the pans frying burned my eyes and instantly gave both of a headache. People were given tours of the new bar but in the meantime while they were checking it out their behinds and coats were in my face and food constantly. Then when our prime rib arrived in which we got the3/4 pound each over a third of it was fat. I felt cheated and disappointed in my meal and evening. The bar seemed to go over fairly well but unfortunately for us we had the unlucky table beside it.

I went to eat wings at the sports bar once. Not only did the waitress forget my order, she went to the kitchen after I asked her about my wings after 45 minutes, and got someone else's wings and gave it to me. It wasn't even the type I ordered! No wing sauce was on them, and they were still in the grease pan they had been cooked in! mmmm! lol I mentioned it to the manager the next time I went to the main dining room (no longer trusting the sports bar room staff). He replied, "That must have just happened to you; otherwise, we wouldn't be in business for very long." I was stunned, as he had "added insult to injury" without even realizing it. Eating in the main dining room, I was underwhelmed by the "I don't care" attitude of the hostess. Even apart from the inconsistency servicewise and the bad management, I think the food is overpriced for what you get.

I Think the Hoffman House is Great !!!! And the Fish!!! To die for. Not literally.. But, for Seniors on a Fixed Income. Questionable. The Service is Great. Salad Bar wonderful. And the Staff warm Hospitable and Super Friendly and Fun loving... We had a 80 th Birthday Party there and it was Perfect.. Left my Pictures there. They had found them but when I went to Pick them up.. No Pictures in the Lost and Found. They had Misplaced them..Very Disappointed about that.. Other ten that..Super Place to Dine..

Hoffman House was once Rpckford's finest for prime rib, But no more, Over priced for the portion you get, There salad Bar is still one of the best!
