My friend and I called this City Cab Taxi and was charged $14 to go less than a mile. We were at Johnny Mac's and wanted to go to Porky's which is right down the street, once we arrived at the bar the driver told us we owed him $14. It literally took us 2minutes to drive there and we were charged $14 that's just too much for too little of a distance, and well after reading other reviews on other web sites about this company it's obvious now that it's common practice for him to charge his customers a lot more than what every other taxi company in town charges. Later that night I road in a Yellowish/Greenish taxicab on my ride home I then learned that the average fare is $7-$12 to go any where within the city limits and $15-$25 for out side of the city limits. He seems to be one of the bigger more well known companies this City Cab guy, and somehow he still charges the most. I will never ride with or recommend this company to anyone else again, and I just wanted to share with other people my experience so that the same thing wouldn't/wont happen to them.

I've been away from home since 2002 and I moved to the East coast New York, Chicago, Baltimore ect, and so I’ve taken a few taxicabs, in a few different cities and I’ve seen all type of fares.
Well I’ve recently moved back home was very upset when the taxi driver that I called told me that it cost $70 to ride from the Airport to town, now (he couldn’t tell that i was pissed) and I paid it, but i was pissed.
I don’t have a car yet and so I take taxi a lot, now since my rip off from City Cab, I’ve learned from other taxicab drivers/companies that the normal fare from the airport to rock springs is $25 or $30. Now the driver that originally told me this, I believe his name was Calvin is the manager of Butterfly Taxi and of course being a competitor I didn’t at first believe what he said but since then I’ve spoken to other taxi drivers and I’ve learned that Calvin (who by the way complains about all the other taxi companies and gouges his prices also lol) well he was actually telling the truth about Jeff at City Cab.
I also learned that the guy form City Cab changes his rates from time to time. One-day he charges one price and the next day he charges something different. He seems to be the most expensive taxi company in town. I felt truly hosed after learning all of this and felt that I should at least try and warn other customers/potential customers of City Cab taxi to watch out and be aware,
Respectfully Yours Matt C
