I have used City Cab company every single time I'm in Roanoke. These guys know what takes to run a cab company. I used many other cab companies around Roanoke, I got many disappointment stories from most of them, but never had any issue with City Cab company .their drivers are always on-time, knowledgeable, polite and very friendly. They never let me down when I needed their services, even at very late at night. I definitely give these guys 5 stars.. Highly recommended taxi business in Roanoke .
I have used CityCab more time than I can count & I have nothing but praise for the way of business . City cab is the only cab I call for when I need a ride, by far the best company in Roanoke there cars are so clean and they always smell good, drivers are always on point and have great service, they have always been on time
They are absolutely the worst cab service in town. They will tell you that a cab will be on its way in the next 15-20 minutes. 30 minutes go by, you call and ask them where is the cab? They tell you that they should be on their way. As they tell you, they catch an attitude with you as if you're not supposed to call and check on the arrival time of your cab. Then you end up waiting another 20-30 for it to come. Now, you've literally waited an entire hour just to go up the street or so. God forbid you expect to be anywhere on time if you call this cab service. They are unreliable. They are extremely always late. The operator on the phone has the poorest customer service you can possibly find. I'm not saying this either because of just one incident. This is based off of MULTIPLE times I've used them. They will also cancel your ride if you do not answer the phone in time. They will not inform you that your service is canceled. I recommend you use Uber or B Early cabs over them ANY DAY.
Called the night before to schedule a 10:40am pick up of my Mother to take her to a hair appointment. Spoke with Tim, who was friendly and very accommodating. I explained what I wanted to do. He said sure, he could take the reservation. I gave him the pick-up and destination addresses and phone numbers. Asked if they took credit cards, he said yes, they do and he made note of that on the reservation. Asked him if I needed to call to confirm the next morning, he said no, they pass out the schedules in the morning and there should be no problem at all. Get a call from my Mom at 10:50 asking if the cab was still coming. I said, let me call them and I will call you back. Day-time employees: Jamie and Diane - One answers the phone, I explain that I had made the reservation the night before with Tim and was wondering if the driver was still coming. She acted like she was too busy to deal with me and puts me on hold. After some time, the other one picks up. Tell her the same thing, she puts me on hold to "check on it". Comes back to the phone to say, "That's a credit card booking. I don't have any drivers available right now who accept credit cards." I asked why in the world they would have taken the reservation if something like that was going to be such a critical variable? She started making excuses and then said, "Well, I'm not a driver, honey. I can't MAKE our drivers go somewhere if they don't want to." What a bizarre explanation from an unhelpful and rude person!Needless to say, my Mom didn't get to her hair appointment.Bottom line: Screw Yellow Cab - Use Uber.
We got very friendly driver who took all the places we need to go and waited on us. I subtract two stars because drivers should be equipped with tablet card reading systems and their cars should have programmable GPS systems. Otherwise this was a good experience.
I like these guys. I used them more than 4 times last week, specially on new year eve, they showed up on time, the driver knew his way out without the use of any GPS help. I didn't have to worry about giving him turn by turn directions . One more thing I like about these guys is the "fare" , it's much lower compared to other cab companies . I do recommend "City Cab" company
