My husband an I drove 3 hours from home to Camping World of Roanoke to have our roof cool coated an replace all the caulking on our motor home. So they called a week later to salary it was ready, once again we made the 3hourbtrip one way now to pick up our motor home. We decided to stop an stay in Wytheville on the way home because it was raining so hard that we couldn't see to drive. Imagine my surprise when I walked into the bedroom to see it still leaking after just paying someone 700.00 dollars to do a roof treatment that didn't work! Going back tomorrow to talk with the manager hope this can be resolved!!
I would not even give one star I wish I would have read other reviews but I do not always believe what I read on the internet??. I am not sure if most camping worlds are like this one or not... Yes very nice staff I will give them that. No communication between any of the different services at all. Would have left us drive off the lot with a bad tire if we would not have said anything about it .... Exposed metal from a blown tire that should have been fixed before we even got there... Rear stabilizer motor was bad and we drove off the lot without checking it shame on us now they will not replace it... A 9 hour drive to do business never again..... And wonder what else is going to go wrong that I am sure camping world knows all about.....
Bought a used motorhome in January, 2016. Within two weeks, I took it back to have things fixed that were supposed to work already, including both convex drivers mirrors were lose and falling off. Was charged $129 to fix the antenna up indicator, $129 to fix an antifreeze leak among other more expensive repairs. Neither of these items were fixed; I found and fixed the antifreeze leak by tightening a hose clamp, and am ignoring the antenna up indicator. Then, when I went to flush the hot water tank, I found that it had been full of water during the frigid months. After cleaning it out and replacing the anode. I connected water only to see it running out of the coach along the slides. Investigation found that the coupling nut on the kitchen sink was broken and thus had run water thru the unit.
Just a horrible experience-I drove my RV to Camping World of Roanoke to get a waste pump fixed.
At the service desk, they told me if I joined the Good Sam’s Club, I would receive 25% off labor and parts. They said labor was $125 an hour, gezz, so I said OK and they escorted me to the front to buy a membership. So far so good; but that was the end of good!!
Upon delivery and examination, I saw there was no promised discount of 25% anywhere, and I had been charged about $80 for a BS supply surcharge—this was not in the original estimate either. I questioned the person, and I could tell she was very uncomfortable about the bill. She stated that the computer made the decisions about the Good Sam’s discounts, not her. She was the same person that sold me the membership and offered the 25% discount to start with; I guess the computer changed its and her mind.

Approx 11 am, May 14,2011 we were shopping for a travel trailer to use for our personal use. We were introduced to Jay, a new salesman. He was very kind and seem to listen to our wants and needs, he had some questions about used travel trailers, so he asked one of the others to give him the information, which ended up being ""Dennis"" Dennis basically took over the sale and even though I had gave the information to my sales person, Jay and I heard Jay tell him the same information, Dennis was asking me the same questions. He tried to assisted as we walked out through the homes, Dennis was very rush and showed us three. Finally, he let us deal back with our salesperson, Jay. We asked a few other questions and I told Jay, we wanted to look at the trailers again talk with my husband to see what we feel would be our best fit. Jay agreed to let us discuss and we would come back to the sales floor to see what our decision would be... so as soon as we came in, Jay met and greeted us. I told him which one we were leaning towards and why, then once again, Dennis came over, trying to shove papers at us to start processing paperwork, FIRST of all, I had not agree to buy any one of the trailers, so why would I fill out any paperwork. Then he asked us the same questions again. I asked for Jay's card to be able to get in contact with him once we had made up our mind. Then, the guy sitting in the office behind us, with 4-5 other employees, he said, ""why give them a card, they are not going to call back anyway"" ? My husband and I were blown away, so my husband, said I guess we want be needing the business card and dropped it back on the table, then my husband asked why he would be so rude to act that way to customers in wide open sales floor. My husband expressed how we felt, as the other customers seen and heard they choice to leave the sales floor, so whether you lost a sale from them or not, you certainly lost ours. I will be sure to spread the word, write reviews on every site possible to let them know how poor the customer service this store was to us. As we were leaving my husband looks back, and Dennis along had walked in the office with the guy who made the comment, they were laughing as if it was a big joke and found humor in them being disrespectful to us.
Again, my husband turned around and went back to comment on them laughing and finding it funny, he tried to use the excuse that he wasn't talking to us that he was talking to them. AS IF THAT EXCUSES HIS COMMENTS? The 2nd time we were leaving, Jay followed us out and apologized to us for the rest of the people and the comments that were made, I had NO complaint on the service we received from Jay, personally you should terminated everyone in that office, including Dennis and replace them with more people like Jay! After we left, I told my husband, the receptionist asked him if he wanted to speak with the finance manager, not sure what the finance manager would be able to do but my husband called back and asked to speak with him, he said, he was unaware of the issue and wasn't anything he would be able to do, we asked for district managers contact information, he refused to give it to us. All he wanted us to do is go to their website and put in a complaint. Honestly, speaking to the finance manager was a waste of our time as well. I hope you hear more complaints from other customers that was on the sales floor today so you can see how poorly the service was or if its on camera, I would suggest reviewing them. Also, to sum up this review, check out the bbb site, they have an ""F"" rating. NO WONDER
