Sorry for the plug but I must clear up some facts. ACS Home Entertainment pioneered satellite TV for nearly 30 years and has been on the forefront ever since. Disregard the post by bradheyden as that post is falsely representing ACS. While one might think the move is a slick one, it is very unethical and deceptive. After investigating, “bradheyden” posted a number for an out-of-town satellite dealer who knows nothing about our area, nor do they offer local service. The company who is behind this is Satellite Sales. ACS is local and services 18 counties on behalf of DISH Network corporate. Their numbers are 540.982.7833 and 866.227.3474. Their store is open Mon-Sat, 9-6. Local customer support is offered 7 days a week from 7-7 at the same phone number. In-home service/installation is offered 7 days a week/365 days per year. Bottom line…If you want the honest facts about paid TV services and the differences between DISH, DirecTV, and cable, ACS will give them to you. It is not uncommon for them to encourage customers to either remain with their current provider or to choose another alternative from what ACS offers. They are honest, straight shooting people. Enough said…

ACS is DISH Network?s regional service provide for most of southwestern Virginia. Basically, when someone signs up for DISH service directly with DISH, through direct mail from third-parties, or at ACS?s retail store in Roanoke, ACS is contracted to perform the installation.
DISH Network has very strict requirements relating to the servicing or installation of their systems that ACS cannot waiver from. These may include the account holder being on-site during the installation, rental units having signed landlord permission forms, and strict installation parts and procedures. These requirements are all in place to protect the customer, DISH Network, and ACS.
Having said this, it is up to the selling party to communicate all of these necessary requirements to the customer. What is often found is that third-party marketers do a poor job setting up the new accounts and neglects to communicate all requirements. This seems to be attributed to high turnover in the call centers and the lack of history and experience in the home satellite industry. They often say whatever needs to be said to close the deal. It isn?t uncommon to see ads promising free DVD players, digital cameras, or sound systems. While the offers are legitimate, the sales representatives often state that the technician will deliver the product or related information. What I must tell you is that the technicians do not do this nor is ACS associated with these offers.
When ACS receives a service work-order, it is their responsibility to delivery the best possible service. They are also very quick to remedy any problems that may arise. What I recommend for anyone thinking of signing up for new DISH Network service, contact ACS directly. They pioneered the home satellite industry and will give you the honest truth about satellite television and what it means to you. They are the horse?s mouth, so-to-speak. Their new website is acscustomav.

I signed up for Embarq's free tv for a year bundle with internet and phone. Dish is the satelite network for this special. ACS is the company installing the Dish. I ordered the service on July 2nd. The installation date was set for July 11th. The installer showed up, only tell my fiance that he could not install the dish because I was not present. My fiance called me to tell me the installer would not install until I called the office to add his name to the account. I called the number the installer gave only to have the office tell me they would not add his name to the account and that they were rescheduling my appt. When I asked to speak to the supervisor, I was mysteriously disconnected. The installer said they would be back out the following Monday to install when I was there. I took off work to wait for the installer myself. He never showed up. I called the 800 number only to be told that I was not scheduled to be installed until the 18th. Ok...I again, took off work, only to be stood up yet another time. No phone call, nothing. I called the 800 number again...""you didn't fax your rental permission form in""...and I was told this when? Again, rescheduled. Rental agreement was faxed in but, mysteriously the fax was never recieved so guess what...right...rescheduled. Spoke to 800 number again, was told everything was good to go for thursday july 31st. between 12 and 5pm. Wednesday about 3:30 ACS calls to say, we didn't recieve your fax and unless it is recieved by 5 today, we will reschedule you...i again complied, confirmed fax was recieved. Here it is Thursday, July 31st...5:03 pm...guess who hasn't shown up...ACS! I will never recommend them to anyone...HORRIBLE!
